About the binaries; this is the thread where it all started:
Several people found the files on their own but -Reflexis- re-uploaded it on an English file host and released it in a thread. The cause for the search were some Egyptians posting screenshots claiming they hacked TQ's servers. He then released the files and nobody knew how to set it up.
Judging from the thread I was the first one to manage to log in (lol), it also seems that I referenced the EO binaries to do it.
Afterwards a few people found out which English client version could be used to connect (507X), however, those versions were extremely buggy. (Entity spawn packet issues, names not appearing and stuff)
I think that after that a lot of research was done on instant messengers (I vaguely remember not posting new findings anymore) and 5065 was identified as the correct version. I'm not completely sure but I think it was done to prevent everyone from having a working server so only a select few had it completely working up till that point. Then someone went and released a proper guide with a proper client version and a custom account server (Chinese one was a trial version, 10 accounts only). The custom keygen was also pay2use but it got cracked by I think Tw3ak and Sparky. Then stuff snowballed and the binary server era started.
In the end, it took around 60 pages of discussion and a few days before it got widespread.
//edit Completely useless information about the past, Korvacs was once known as Korvics, at least on Qonquer forums.
it was the video I made explaining how to create a server using Binaries step by step , and how to make it work fine, the cause everyone especially the (Egyptians and Brazilians) started to make a server , I regret that tho! lol
I remember the time when I atleast, thought that the actual source for CO was leaked.
And look at that, Hybrid was wrong (not able to change rates etc). Noob!
Nobody at that time knew how they should be set-up properly. I suppose it was merely an assumption by Inf as he have might or might not been interested in the whole binary scenario doesn't really describe a "noob" don't you think?

If Hybrid was never wrong, do you think he would be where he is now?
If he was never wrong, he would essentially be *** - so think of InfamousNoone as Jesus.

Lol chill out, it's a joke. Inf rarely makes a statement without being absolutely sure, hence I found it kind of funny.

Yeah it was a heavy assumption on my part and blatant ignorance as to how the server itself worked. I undermined TQ and assumed they were more stupid than they are. This is probably the only time the assumption of TQ being as stupid as a rock failed me, haha.
I'll update the doc with the new information that's been posted later today.
My apologies for logging into your SVN. I'll admit it was pretty selfish of me on the contrary though I had enough respect for you to warn you that I had. I'd like to think it was in the past, it's critten1242 if you want to correct it.
Yeah, Haydz told me about the correction, and I'll make it after my two exams today, and tomorrow. I don't recall you directly telling me, but just me getting wind of you had it. Doesn't matter anymore though.
