Offline Messages Inquiry

Hey everyone,

It's been a long time since I properly asked the forum for help. My packet logger stopped working on a recent patch, and until I figure out what's causing the issue, I cannot packet log. I'm currently working on offline messages; however, I need to know how they work.

I have everything coded except for the date that appears at the end of the message. I tried messing around with the string and message packet structures, but I was unsuccessful in guessing the winning offset / idea. I'm very confident that it's in the message packet since it's text already in the window's chat area; however, I could be barking up the wrong tree. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

As you can see from this picture, the date is "0".

To be stored in your database -> string MessageDate = DateTime.Now.ToString("yyyyMMddHHmmss");

And when you send the packet 1004 to the targeted player you write the MessageDate as string right before the message string

Offset = 28 + From.Name.Length + To.Name.Length

If I didn't receive the help I got from Angelius, it would of been a huge help (assuming that it's a packet dump of an offline message). Anyways, the solution to my problem has been posted, it's time to archive this topic.
