Actually, that's where you're wrong. I can't find it myself because it's all locked up being held hostage by the people who figured it out. Sure, I could go learn assembly and spend a load of time to figure it out myself, but that is hardly comparable to your case. To compare it to you, I'd have to be asking someone how to learn assembly for a few months straight getting in deep way over my head on projects I obviously can't handle since I don't know the language.

Reinventing the wheel sucks. I've done it so much already. I'm not here asking anyone to give me anything though. You sound like you're assuming I am.. Never once in this thread have I asked anyone for anything. I am only asking why everything is so closed since this thread was originally a subconvo inside the thread of the guy asking to buy the encryption info.

If you're serious, reading and translating assembly instructions to higher-level languages is easy, especially coming from a C++ background. The hardest part is finding the crypt routines; after that, set a breakpoint at the beginning, trace through the routine, and translate it. Saying that, I haven't tried getting it because it has absolutely no relevance to my projects, so it's probably harder than that.

I don't claim to be GREAT at reversing, but I'm open to whatever questions you have about it (see what I did there?). I'm not going to blatantly tell someone "here's how to do xxxxx - edit the instruction xxxxx to xxxxx at address xxxxxx".

you have just answered the question yourself!!

To be fair, his comparison* here is correct. What you were asking, and what he's asking is completely different. All the information you needed to do what you were doing was public and available.

No, you're right. Reading and translating them is quite simple if you understand the basics. But finding the crypt routines is a pain for me. Just not good with it. If I spent the time, I could find it. I did locate the SSL stuff far before anyone had released it when TQ first implemented it, but **** if I knew what to do with it. Only after someone released info on it did I know exactly what I was looking at at the time. I can totally understand someone's thoughts of "why don't you go learn asm and get it yourself", but that's not really very communitylike. The subject of sharing had come up a lot here way back and I'm sure it's been brought up a lot since I've been gone.

Anyway, if I WERE asking for the encryption info, all I'd be asking for is a shortcut. A favor from one dev to another. But since I'm not asking for anything, it's a moot point.

my point is , he one of the ppl who always stress you need to find everything yourself , maybe the crypto is not public like what I have asked him before, but as he mentioned his C++ coder for like 10 years or so , means easily to learn asm which is public to everyone + his knowledge = figuring it out himself!!!

C++ isn't assembly. It's quite different. Yes, I could go and learn it relatively easier than someone who doesn't know a programming language, but I have no practical use for it in what I do. The only time so far that I've actually needed to know more than the basics is in CO.

YOU DON'T SAY!

I know it's different what I meant is you are capable of understanding asm easily and learn it , me myself know asm and I can do some revers ***** lol

Why not overwrite TQ's encryption with your own custom one? Then we wouldn't need to rely on others to release the encryption routines for us

Ok? I still don't get your point since this thread is not me asking for anything. Yes, if I wanted to spend a lot of time, I could eventually figure it out. We're past that. This thread isn't even about the encryption itself but the state of the community.

I have made my point clear before so about the state of the community if you answered this question you would know why they are not sharing it!

Ahh, the issues with this convo being turned into a thread. This discussion originated from a guy asking to buy the encryption. This was never me asking for anything so stop talking about it.

Mr Pop, your quote doesn't make sense. Please elaborate it instead of repeating it over and over.
