Pickaxe 101

me and my friend were thinking about socketing a pickaxe for fun, with sdg's and super +3, then we'd put on noob equip, and see whos the best,

LOL i dunt think this is gunna wrk with all dat socketing... I think it depends on the proficientcy and not the pick axe itself.

how can you 2 socket a pickaxe using 2 dbs ONLY?!!!! everyone knows that you use 1 db for the first socket, and 5 for the 2nd one
I think that this is not working at all, because I mined with a normal pickaxe since long time ago, and I got great results, and my friend was rich and he used a +4 pickaxe with 2 super fury gems, and he didn't get half what I got
it's digging luck, using a super +9 2 socket 2 sfgs enchanted 255 hp or using normal one, both are the same, u'll not dig deeper using your HISTORIAL pickaxe :P

Pretty obvious you have no clue, it doesn't take two DB's to make two sockets in a weapon it takes 6.

there was many discussion about the pickaxe a few years ago... i think i made the joke post called "Pimp your Pickaxe" or something... any alteration to the pickaxe will not increase your output, its all a random algorithm. the thread then went on to talk about silly alterations to the pickaxe, like SDG +5 pickaxe for some pvp.

i believe we concluded that the pickaxe skill did have an effect on the algorithm slightly, while plussing and socketing said axe had a next to nil effect, if any. any of the senior members can correct me if i am remembering it incorrectly.

its very easy to understand why you can level pickaxe proficiency, becuase its a weapon and TQ did not bother removing it, when they can keep the same equipment type structure. I've seen people double socket their pickaxe's and ive seen them +5 on my server and +8 on others.

if that had any effect its gone now since they patched mineing with luckytime and all that jazz. The golden days of CO are gone. I had 4 miners in the tc mine for a week stright farming ore for me to make houses. Not one of them got a single gem. Back in the day it would take no longer than a few hours to pick up a normal. Why do you think nobody mines anymore, or mine pk's for that matter.

And YOU have no clue, because when this was made, it took 2 DBs to socket a picaxe
