Even though I have other opinions about this (some points match, some dont) I like this thread ^^.
<small brainstorm>Sockets:
whats variable?
*met uni-ID
*item uni-ID
*quality
*level
*max dura
*month
*day
*hour
*minute
*second
As seen in many threads, sockets seem to be made much in the 33th minute of a hour
Seemingly, time is involved in making sockets
*met uni-ID
*item uni-ID
*quality
*level
*max dura
*month
*day -Might be INVOLVED, as the server maintance is on certain days, and there are rumours you have a larger chance before/after s.maint
*hour -INVOLVED-
*minute -INVOLVED-
*second -INVOLVED-
To research whether the unique ID matters, we need a method of finding it. Is this ID given when you e.g buy the item from a pharmachist? ifso, could somebody buy a couple of stanchers and give us the memory adresses where the uni-ID's are stored for each inventory slot?
quality/lvl, hard to determine whether it bothers or not, guess time will learn us..
max dura, best way to research this, is to look each time a person brags about having made a socket checking if the max dura and the rest is visable
This brainstorm took me about 10 mins, hope it gives you the inspiration you might need

Interesting topic !
After reading this I felt like someone is forgetting about the VP mets, do they have more probability of socketing/upgrading a item than the the other ones ? Well.. It is community work to help noobs out and consumes a lot of time.
Another point I've tested have to do with purchased DBs, bought an Elite level 15 pair of boots and 5 DBs, tried to open a socket on them and with 5 DBs + ~40 mets after got some crappy level 70 Super Boots. :-/

it is all based on time, but the time changes every couple maints. i used to know the exact time to upgrade any piece of eq, regardless of quality or +'s in 2 mets or less. and for some reason i always seem to mine a gem at 7:00pm local time when i stand at the exact same coords.

reasonable theoreyes; i got to some of your conclusions myself; i have to disagree with one thing though: the skypass met. at lvl 120 i upgraded my elite socketed armour&necky andmy elite boots with less than 40 skypass mets. i'd say that's a reasonable number for +3 socketed items . but any way +1 karma for the rest

lolz i hav proof about skypass mets..i had a super +4 warrior armour..WAAAAAAY back in the day..lvl 110..and i always skypassed..so once i got 120 i decided i wud jus skypass for the mets..i ended up using around 850 skypass mets before i gave up and sold it and bought an elite one...ended up getting it down to 23 max dura...

Im new here but hopefully this will help (here it goes):
My miner was since yesterday non-stop and got a gem toady at 15:28 (gtm -7), and my other char was in tg, i decided to o and hunt a little at apes but in the first 200 kos they didnt drop a single item >.< ; then i got an elite lvl 15 coro and, when i checked the log it was exactly 15:28 @.@ .
I read in another topic that some1 mentioned a timer or something like that , this sure is something that can't just be ignored.
What do u think of this?

Im working on a +1 project, everytime one drops i rite down the name of it, the place, the time, the spawn, etc. After months and months of more hunting, ill release it publically and it should show sum sort of pattern, so far ive seen one but ill show u later

I read your theory Einstein and have some comments:
I hunt a lot and get more mets the first hours after server maint and also if I'm almost alone on a map. Mets also tends to drop 2-4 in a short time in the same map. If I hunt alone on a map I get 2-4 mets myself. If I hunt with a friend on the same map, when I get a met he also very often get a met shortly after. This fits with your theory. It may be the same with upgrading items: better the first hours after server maint and maybe 2-4 in a short time.
But I dissagree to the theory of different types of mets or DBs givving different upgrade probability. Several other posters also dissagree with this theory. In the itemtype.dat file there is only one type og met and there is no logic in complicating the programming by tracking where you got the mets. I have upgraded a super L107 Archer coat in just 3 mets of the type you state should not work.
And the theory of each character beeing born with a luck factor has to be wrong. Why would any programmers put that into a game? There is no logic at all behind that.
But several of your theories appear correct, but not all of them!

well, im pretty sure many events on CO are time based.
you can see it on labby token drops or quest items. u can be killing agilerats for 45 min and get nothing, but for 5 min u get 2-3-4 tokens.so i ususally when hunted tokens and got one, never stopped and still tried 5 minutes minimum, as i was sure more were going to drop.
same to me is with mets. i hunt a lot with my archer, and is much more probable to get a met just after u got one, than any other time.
and from what i have seen, on a full server you get less mets than on an empty one. usually i plevel morning and evening gmt time, and on morning i get much more (usually 2x or more) mets than on evenings, when usa and BR players login.
about socketing, id say i have no clue. i made a lot of sockets, but always spamming mets, and a couple opening MB. looks like it works a bit better if u dont spam quick, but u use a met every 30 sec (i do it on normal-ref items). but this is my personal opinion.
anyway, nice brainstorm

about the mets i dont know if this will hekp but i get 20-30 mets every 8-9 hr useing copartner. i am the only one one the hole map.
ps i have been doing it now in same place for 3-4 months now and i get more uni's then i know what do do with i also get 2-4 elites per day , a db every other day and 1 super a weak. i run my hunter 24/7 and only go down for server maint. i make about 10-15 mill a day this way hope it helps. : )

Sorry all, I was away for a while, just too inform you because I have had a lot of questions concering moonbox but let me answer your question.
finding moonbox tokens is not random, their are 53, or 52 tough horns per tactic, and 1 has a token, when you kill it, another one respawns somewhere and holds it.

well obviously you don't understand 50% of the crap coming out of your mouth,
if you actually read the entire post, you would of found that all the crap you just submitted was covered.
#1 you said that My theories were wrong when you didnt read the beginning.
Ever been told that a socket in anything other than a weapon can be made during a certain period of time? Or, a Moonbox will contain a socket, if you open a certain amount at a time, well, some of these facts may not be true, but I am here to prove some!
#2 you tried too prove the theory below wrong by saying that you just upgraded ur coronet with a met from metzone when...
These are PROVEN facts, that I will show below!
- It is MOST unlikely to get meteors from meteor zone to upgrade hats, Caps, Helmets, Coronets!
- It is MOST unlikely to get meteors from skypass to upgrade armor.
- Meteors from lab work well on weapons rings, bags and necklaces.
Try it, take 50 meteors from sky pass, take a unique level 57 trojan armor, and I dare you to try and upgrade it to level 70, IT WONT WORK!
When I said MOST unlikely I did not mean impossible, think before you try to make a fool out of yourself again, thankyou.
And for those getting angry saying it doesnt work, this thread is not telling you how too ALWAYS get a socket, it is telling you ways that you may get better chances, as I explained near the end....
Well you get the point! Now if you were to take all my theories, try them together, I bet you, your chances of luck will increase!

this is about MBS
I've gotten many socks, elite items and **** in a timing... Ill explain now.
- If u open 2 mbs in the same minute example:
- 3 mbs opened at ??:55 will give u 3 ref items + 1 met. (not always but 90/100 will)
- 3 mbs opened at ??:56 got elite boots, elite necky and uni bag, then the next our we tryed 2 more and got elite boots again and elite atack ring.
Thats an example, i've realize that if u go in tactics from
??:50-??:00 ull get into Death tactic with a GIANT RATE!!! also that time is good for tokens in others tactics !
it might not ALWAYS Work but I open some mbs AT SAME MINUTE and 4/5 of them are elites L30 or L37... (IT WONT ALWAYS WORK!)
also arround ??:29 u might go to death tactic.
I would give the Socket shield time but i cant find the paper where i got it -.-!
I also agree with the Much ppl Fact
the more ppl the hardest to make sock and a friend proved it, she made 2 socks after a Patch maint, Boots and nechy (WITH 10 METS!), also i gotta say 1 sock elite warrior armors got an extreme high chance to get the second sock when u upgrade 57-70, i made one and my friend also.
I NEVER SAID THAT THIS WILL ALWAYS WORK! BUT U CAn TRY!!! U MIGHT HAVE HIGH CHANCES

GM mode is activated by switching the flag to on that flag is two lines under and 8 bytes in under your password.
The command list:
/out - no clue what it does
/end - server or event stop
/start - server or event start

/res - res in the same spot or res a character, I know in TS1 it was not possible to resurrect in GM mode this is most likely a fix to that.

There are way too many theories floating around the conquer community.
Alot of them aren't even based on any sort of fact or even an educated guess.
Before you post a theory, you should always test it out first instead of being the reason alot of new players go looking for a pot of gold under a rainbow.
I'm not trying to be rude, I would just like to see alot less people pointing others in the wrong direction based on little to no knowledge about what the reasoning would be, behind the...
