Heres a tricky little scam.

Here's a scam someone tried to use on me, I don't know if it's been posted, I am too lazy to look. But I found quite amusing.

Say you have a decent item. Super socketed necklace +3 maybe. Someone will whisper offer you a few DBs for it, but maybe half of what its worth.

Then, on another character they whisper you selling a Super 2 soc +5 necklace worth 1 or 2 Dbs less then what the other character is trying to get you to sell yours for, hoping you will go "HEY!" thats better for cheaper. And sell the one you have for the cheaper price, go back to buy the others only to find out "its already been sold" or something.
So now you are stuck with DBs less then what your item was worth.
I figured it out when the first one wouldnt stop harassing me, and the other refused to deal with the first one because "he didnt like him" Hmmm gee I wonder.

Anyway now you know, so try it out yourself or avoid other people attempting this scam. ^_^

You know, this is old, but still efficient. All what he done was using 2 chars at once. I personally sold a normal super bs (i mean without +s or socs) for 18kk, worths 7kk on my server. But it`s just build on luck and kindness with the buyer.
