as the topic says it decrypt and encrypt the itemtype.dat the sourcecode is in included.

if you make something based on the routine you should leave credits in your tool for it with a link to epvp.

little tut how to figure it out yourself:

scroll down a bit for chocoman's c++ sourcecode for it

p.s. to add something not offtopic: it seems all other encrypted files like itemtype use the same encryption method they just have different keys.

ok seems only the levexp.dat uses the same method the key for that file is:

This is work nice though.
Don't have to rename to monster.dat anymore. Using the other DeEn.

Don't answer I would hate to screw up another post for you.

Thanks for the code!! Always glad to see something in Delphi!! I've been using Delphi since Version 1. I had no problem compiling the code with Delphi 7 (Enterprise) and no problem decrypting/enceypting the file. Great job!!

Source File> The location of itemtype.dat you want to open.

Destination File > The location and new name of the Decrypted itemtype.dat.
Hint: Rename to .txt, Itemtype.txt. So you can open with text editor.
