How many of you have waited for a game to be released, had high hopes of playing it?
And then everything crashed due to one reason, the area you are living in is blocked by the game servers. Most MMO’s have IP blocks for players from certain regions. Like games that have their servers in North America block players from Europe. Some Korean games block players from North America and the circle continues. I’m going to discuss the main reasons of IP blocks.

Pay to play vs Buy to play vs Free to play

Posted 10/03/2010 at 13:38 by Vaidas B (Blogin' n stuff)

Everybody should know these terms by now. If you don’t I’ll help you out:
• Free to play: Games that are totally free, and have no monthly subscriptions, or any type of mandatory fee’s (you only pay if you want to buy something nice).
• Buy to play: You only pay for the game once and you get full content. (games like Guild Wars use this)
• Pay to play: A player pay’s a mandatory fee (in most games u have to pay every month, but you can buy month or year subscriptions)

Microtransactions

Posted 09/28/2010 at 12:55 by Vaidas B (Blogin' n stuff)

I think every dedicated MMO player knows this term, microtransaction, or has used it at least once. Microtransactions, or micropayments are small payments to buy something in the virtual world. Like costumes for game avatars, or other in-game cash shop items. According to playpal, a micropayment is not more then 12$ (USD), but most (all) games pass that limit.

In most games players that want to buy something are forced to play twice for something. Game makers price objects in a way...

What are we looking for in mmo’s

Many of us are hooked to one game and cant stop playing it for days, months, or even years (in my case). But what do we want from a game, what makes it perfect for us? Today I’ll be talking about game features and what I think makes them great for me. So let’s get started.

• Graphic’s

The first thing we see in a game is its graphic’s, it’s the first thing that makes us choose if we are going to play or not. People say that a good first impression is very important....

Originality is an mmo killer

Posted 09/20/2010 at 08:23 by Vaidas B (Blogin' n stuff)

Originality is an MMO killer

Have you ever wondered why some of the most original MMO's have a criticly low playerbase and are on the brink of shutting down? I think the first thought that comes to your mind is, how can a game be original when there are so many of them? If someone would ask me if i know any games in the time of "the three kingdoms" i could tell that person at least five games without even thinking. The same thing would happen with games in the "time"...
