i think he make his modelswith cinema 4d and then he make a texture with photoshop ;D

yes, maybe, but how to export the right uv map? its harder than you think. he forgot to say us the texture step, :/

Hello.

Whats ur problem with texture?

Is your model really textured in cinema?

Only model data are being exported. You have to convert your texture manualy with textool.

And your polygon name is very important. Its used as texture ID.

Look at some smc files. There is texture id name and texture path. Something like "hw_bd_000" "data\.......tex". So this texture id is internal polygon name.

give us more info please hoostler.


1)if i create an uv map, i paint it all black, i use textool to convert in in .tex file, i put it in its right folder with the right id, weapon will still be white.....

if you give us a more extended tuto as you did the the exporting adding joints tutorial.

So now that the textures stick
Lets say i created a model thats completely different from the original, like your katana.
How can we easy create textures and know what the shape is ?
Can we somehow make a texture in Cinema4d and paint it, save it and convert it to tex?
Or do we really have to find out bij just drawing a .tex file and hope everything is in the right place ? :P

well wiza, if you find, tell me lol.


ive already edited the id of the polygon model in the cinema. the model works perfectly, just those textures no way. you put a black image, you save it in tex, weapon still beeing black.
you paint the uv map, you save it in tex, you put in the right folder, still white.

Sorry but this plugin works only with R10. They've changed plugins api in R12 and all plugins must be rewritten. But im too lazy to do that.

@megachomba
I've read you pm. Let me think about it.



Also guys you should probably try to change texture id in smc.lod file. I dont know if this game use *.smc files anymore.

Edit: attach your c4d file so I'll take a look if everything is alright.

To me everything seems ok in your model, strange that it doesnt work.
How did u made that uv map btw i was looking for that?
