zo client, i take it from the url inside this thread.. i think i connect it from same server.. but different folder.. the server file at desktop and the client files at c://client.. should i put it together in 1 folder?

ok well if youre trying to connect from a local network ip to a local network ip you may have to use a local ip in your client instead of the external ip like a regular players client would be.
debugging your connection is easy ..
with your server running
press cntrl+r to open the run widget .... type cmd in the text area and press enter
in the black box that shows up type ipconfig /all and press enter take note of your local ip and gateway ip when it pops up
then type netstat -ano to show all the connections open on the system
take note of any connections on the ports 5816 9865 9958 etc you should look to see what ip each thing is listening on and if it is established
any connection in a state time_wait closed etc is a misconfiguration in your server files or client
now that you know your ip and can see where your server is listening open your client either on that computer or another (note if you do it on another you will need a new cmd window on the client computer)
then type netstat -ano again in that same window (and the client computer if not on the same server)
you "should" on the server notice another connection to the account server port 9865 and shortly after another on port 5816 from your local ip if not then you have a port forward problem or you are connecting to the wrong ip
now on the client system (if on the same system you can find the client by pid)
do the same thing
take note of the ip and ports it is sending on "and to what ip"..
if it stops at 9865 or 9958 then you should check your account server configs or port forwarding
if it is sending on a local ip to the local ip of the server then it is connecting behind the router and you need to adjust your own client to the local ip of the server or clients computer.
if it is sending to the external ip and connects to 9865 and 9958 then doesnt connect to 5816 then you have a problem with your config files or port forwarding ...
just as a point of interest though once you complete this configuration and finish updating your server ... when you go to put it on a production server you will find you have to do it all over again and configure things in a completely different way ...
it might be worth purchasing a vps server for development purposes and saving yourself the headache twice
I "do" provide hosting and support for these things if u need something like that hit me up

A little update, I have some more recent files coming about soon with a working custom client that I built myself for those that are still interested in Zero.

wit the current exploits people are using on zero it would be a bad idea for anyone who isnt a pro to try and host one of these servers.... there are some huge flaws in the framework of the game

That may be true but better to help those that want to help them selves than to never have helped at all.

Helping people only to get screwed by a player base that can clone items (anything that can be composed) is only going to half help them, unless you're going to go the extra mile and also fix that problem, then it's a waste of everyone's time (those trying to help and to those trying to run it).
The exploit spoken of is pretty much game breaking unless you can prevent it, and it effects both the 2008 and 2009 server bins. Pservs in general, for this game are fairly doomed to fail due to that exploit and a few others unless you have the expertise to fix it or work around it, and by fix it I mean debug patching server bins with new code for the genakoo core, this isn't a db edit to fix it.
In short, idle is right, with current exploits, it is a waste of the 99%'s time.
