It’s not your right to have an addon to make the game easier to play for you you’re not entitled to it. They are providing a service and the addon and guides up to level 30 are free.

You’re not paying for the addon you’re paying for premium content inside the addon. People are allowed to be compensated for putting hundreds of man hours into their work.

I also support multiple addon developers on Patreon because they provide services I appreciate.

No, you’re mistaken. Besides, the one sharing them is not the “pirate” as you think, it’s the person who actually was able to afford to buy the guides, share them with the “pirate”, which in turn then gets posted here. They’re the person who should be receiving the benefit.

As was said, people in certain countries and situations are unable to afford these guides, on top of a monthly subscription to the game. If anything, donations can go to the actual person sharing the guide, I never said that was the “pirate”.

Plus, RestedXP last time I checked do not trade in donations, so it’s either you pay the full amount, use the free guides, or use nothing at all. Piracy is about sharing with those not in a position as fortuitous as others, to allow them access as well, not submitting to the actual company charging full whack for the product.

So if one were say a music producer, bought Steinberg Cubase i.e. paying for the software, then all the third party amplifier/drum plugins i.e. addons that several people/teams work on for months to develop should come for free? Since someone already paid for the base product?

Iam comparing a game and a music software.

Both are softwares developed by people who spent time on them.

The Music Software was paid
The plugins in question for the music software was paid
There were also free plugins

The game was paid
The addons in question for the game was paid
There were also free addons

Cannot go from paid to free.

Seems the Devs say the addon is free and the guides are paid. But that is not what was said.

They deleted their posts because the Devs found out. Because someone reported the one that was providing the guides. Now we know who that is.

Well the paid guides is what has been developed to plug-in into the addon.

But that doesn't even matter.

Are the guides developed by developers? Yes
Do people pirate them here for free? Yes
Do people enjoy the guides? Probably otherwise they would not be here.

If people enjoy the guides it is fine for them to donate to the developers of the guide.

Nothing more nothing less, there just is not anything more to it.
