I've set out to write this guide because the other two floating around the internet suck. This was the personal tried and true method I used to level two mages to 60. I'll include my locations where I still have them.

Mobius [teleportation] is indeed dangerous. It is a risk. It is NOT an instant ban as has recently been conveyed. I recommend you do it on a second account which you can afford to lose. (Use the mage to suppliment main leveling, or for farming, or if you want a 60 mage but dont want to risk your main). Never use it outside of an instance, Never use it infront of people, Never use it to escape a PVP situation. Its still risky, but much less so if you use it intelligently.

Few things first:
The best way to spec your mage is to go minimal fire to combustion (getting the +6 yard range bonus) then speccing Arcane to Evocation.

If a mob hits you with a toe to toe melee hit, it will continue to be able to do so untill you force it to lose agro (reguardless of where you teleport). You can either polymorph it, warp to the other side of the zone turn warp back (works on mobs which wont hold agro zone wide, some are this way not all.. ) or zone out completely and come back.

Sometimes if mobs match your x and y coordinates exactly they have the ability to move up the z axis (at their normal movement speed) untill they can hit you. This usually happens when your killing mobs which will flee, and when they return this will occur. There is no prevention for it, though some spots typically have more issues with this than others (try different locations for killing, different mob paths will help if it is occuring a lot) When this happens all you can do is teleport away and turn before they actually get in range to hit you (you'll see them bouncing upward at their normal movement speed..) when you teleport back, they'll reposition and it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

1-18 = You have to level these manually. Don't cheat. Its not worth it to teleport above mobs and nuke them one by one, especially because there are no instances for these levels. Bite the bullet and be a nub!

For 14-18 if your really anxious you can try doing wailing caverns. The druids here will tear you up at this level, so you simply have to avoid them. You can pull a few raptors down into the water and use arcane explosion on them, but its hard pulling a substantial ammount without agroing the druids.

18-20 Do these levels in the deadmines. You wont be able to hit the ship area reliably yet, so now that you have flamestrike you'll be doing the upper mobs. Hit the first mob you see inside the instance, then use 2, wait till they bunch under you, then use 3. Rinse and repeat through 13 - then use "Kill spot" to flamestrike them. Warning: There are indeed casters here who can hit you, but 100% of the time at that kill spot they will only cast flamestrike, 90% of the time flamestrike will do absolutely no damage to you (either it will all the time or it wont all the time) due to the way they cast it. If it does hit you, reset the instance (dont just zone out and come back, the instance must be reset) and try again. 9/10 times they wont be able to hit you.

20-26 You're going to do the ship area in deadmines. I no longer have my locations for this area, but the pull is pretty simple. You start on the docks (opening to the ship area) nuke the first mob then port to where you get onto the ship, wait there they will cluster.. then port to the platform on the left side of the ship where a bunch of mobs are, wait till they cluster, now port ontop the ship and agro the group there. Once they are all under you, position yourself above the lowest deck on the back side of the ship.. collect all the mobs here and you can use blizzard (slightly more effective then flamestrike at this point)

26-36 Gnomeregan. Gnomeregan is a great zone which will take you for a whole 10 levels. Initially you'll be doing a smaller pull. Go to Electrocutioner 6k, take yourself down about 30, then go every direction. Every platform around you contains mobs. Shoot one, move to the next platform, shoot one, move to the next, rinse repeat. Once you've collected all the platforms, go to "flamestrike spot" - you'll have a small wait here while the mobs come to you, if you like, you can spend it collecting slimes to add a little extra exp. Note: This location assumes you're fire specc'd and have the +6 yard fire talent. If not, stop reading my guide because you wont get anything out of it. Around 30 you can step it up, first use "therma" (you can farm him for some nice items if you like, he cant touch you..) and move yourself outside his door.. hit one of the mobs right there, then follow the tunnel manually to the end (shoot things along the way, since theres 3 pathways here 1 train will not collect everything) Once you've got this area bunched up, warp to electrocutional 6k and do that pull, once thats done, your ready to go: I dont have my location for this one, you'll have to find it yourself. If your at the zone in, go right around the walkway untill you hit the dead end, on the opposite side of the dead end is where you'll want to be. It might take a few tries to find the exact spot here, but you can take that nice big pull you just made here and kill it. Note: Here your ranging for blizzard and not flamestrike, which is why you had to move to this location. The ranged mobs would be able to hit you if you tried to blizzard at 'flamestrike spot', but here they will stop just out of the range so you can blizzard effectively. The reason you need to blizzard is because the spell reflection will resist flamestrike - but blizzard works like a DoT spell and will cut right through the reflection. This spot will easily take you to 36. If your feeling adventerous, you can add some additional mobs using the eng labs, but not necessary. (I was able to pull off level 31-32 here in 6 minutes 7 seconds.. if your doing it right, it will be quick.)

36-42 Very simple scarlet monestary for these levels. You just enter the instance, use 'morgraine kill spot', turn, and he'll pull the entire chapel to you. Once you learn how that works, use 'chapel pull 2' which will put you just outside the chapel gates.. here you can pull all the mobs in this area as long as you DONT get a sorcerer. If you get a sorcerer you have to start over (at least untill your about level 40 then you can take them on) Sometimes the sorcerers will spawn as patrolers which vastly limits how many mobs you can get from this location, but you'll get at least the 4 right outside the door so its worth your time. I added hanor and herod kill spots incase you want to do a little farming while your there.

42-56 This is marudon. You can make awesome pulls here that will get you nearly an entire level at a time. The kill spot is 'posion falls' and if you need to shift the mobs, use 'posion falls 2'. This is much easier with two people, thats how I did it, but it can be done with 1. You'll start by using 'Noxxion/flowers pull" - go down 10 from my loc, turn, and shoot the first flower you see. Port back to posion falls and wait. Once they are clustered under you, your ready for your next pull. I used two people for this, so i'm not sure how far the mobs will follow you before they lose agro. It SHOULD work so that if you have all the flowers under you at posion falls, use 'lord midpoint' and they'll cluster under you there. If not -- your going to have to hold their hands and walk them to this point slowly. Once your there, use 'Lord pull' -- grab the two sets of demons there (make sure you go above the world at this point because they will tear you up with their spit initially) then use 'lord 1', cluster them, then 'lord 2'. There are several groups of mobs around here who wont jump onto the train if you just use those locs, its up to you if you want to try to get them. You'll have a lot of mobs attacking you with ranged spells, so it'll be ugly if your not quick. Once you have them all under you at Lord 2, go back to lord 1, then lord pull, then lord midpoint, then posion falls (you MUST walk these mobs back, if you try to go directly to posion falls they will lose agro and return to their spawns.) I've included several named locations as well for your farming needs. (Note, most of these arn't dropkick named. You have they are just locations close to the named, or the places I pulled them to to kill them like the case of the tinkerer who actually spawns in a little tunnel to the west a ways -- The noxxion and Lord locs are also close to those two named)

56-60. Blackrock spire. It took me a long time to find a good way to do 56-60, and here it is! You start by using spider 1, then spider 2. Once those are all bunched up, use Spire pull 3, go down 10, shoot all the ogres and wait about 5 seconds so the spiders wont lose agro (but not long enough that they are under you, or their stun will get you stuck on the next part of this pull) Now use spire pull 2 (you may have to go go down 1 to get these little buggers to agro) then spire pull 1. Once you've collected all that, go to Kill spot and flamestrike away. You'll have at least 1 named here [mother smoldersomething] and theres a rare spawn who may come as well [crystal web]. Congrats on level 60! That was hard, wasen't it? Wink I've also included some named here for the spire. For omokk follow the bridge to the east, hes in there and can be pulled to this point. He will be getting heals, but I was always able to come out on top in the end. Vosh is hard to do, shoot him then go up till your just 1 under the cealing and you'll be able to kill him here.. looting him.. is another story. expect to die but hey, at least you can loot while dead! (if you've already brought up the window that is) And -- of course -- The general. Use general, go down 10, then use general kill, go down 10, turn, and wait. He'll show up after a while, blast away.. to loot him.. train everything away to either side of the bridge.. warp back drop down and loot quick. He always drops 2-3 items, which sell for about 6g each to merchants, or disenchant to large glimmering shards.

If your CRAZY ENOUGH (and you must be crazy!) you can indeed do portions of molten core. Expect to spend multiple hours per mob. Only do it while a guild is raiding it (just not in their instance) so its not overly obvious when your the only one there on /who. You enter it through blackrock depths, then use molten bridge, you'll see the green portal from there.. find someone to make a raid group with you (only need 2 people total) and zone in. I only found two mobs killable, and lots none killable. There may be more, I didnt spend much time there myself.
