If anyone is looking for somewhere to easily up their lockpicking from the original 75 you get after getting your Certificate of Thievery, you can go to the tower in SE Westfall, near the road that goes into Darkshire.
This is where the rogue quest for poisons is located, upstairs near the lvl 20-25 elite there is a box on the floor. You'll need to be lvl 30+ or so to be able to take the elite by yourself. The box doesn't give any icon if you mouse over it, so you have to click your lockpicking, then the mouse turns blue when you mouse over with lockpicking selected.
Only bad thing about this place is you get a really nasty disease from opening in the box, and it lasts 7 days. BUT, any priest/pally can cure you of it instantly OR if you cant find a nice person to do so, go out and die, respawn, and your good
This box will get you to 175, but it really, really, really slows down at 165 or so. About 1 spawn of the elite per level at that rate.
If you don't feel like sitting there, you can go to the Scarlet Monastery at a higher lvl, about 40-45 I'd say, and there are two doors not 10 feet inside of the building once you get there, these doors were still yellow for me at lvl 230 lockpicking, and gave a level every open. BUT, they are on timers, hence once you open both doors, you must wait 10 minutes before it will give you 2 more levels. (ALSO, I was with my pally friend when I first started grinding this, and when we were grouped, I opened the first two doors and got 2 levels, then I left the group ((He was the group leader, that might have something to do with it)) and opened the doors again, 2 more levels, they it stopped giving level's after those 4, so I rejoined group, went and opened Herod's for a 5th level )
Easy way to remedy this, when you open the door to the Armory (where Herod is) if you are a rogue, sneak past all of the mobs to Herod's door, unlock it and you got another level, then sneak back and by that time the doors should be close to reset.
Use this to get to lvl 225 lockpicking, THEN head to Thelsamar, and head south to the Valley of the Kings, and you will be able to open the door to the Searing Gorge, run through the tunnel, open the other door. 2 more levels a piece. I have not tried these back to back (only did 2 when I was on my way through once) so I'm not sure if you can sit and grind it there or not...
Oh, and at lvl 240 you can open any box including Thorium Lockboxes, only one left is Reinforced Thorium Lockbox, which I'm not sure what lvl you need for that...
