Hi there,
I was bombing halaa in nagrand and logged out while in flight cuz there were several of the opposing faction at the landing spot. When i logged back on i was no longer flagged for pvp and was still in flight. They wern't there anymore, but even if they had been i was still safe.
Works very well if your server is overpopulated with one faction or is a new server like mine is and very few pvp.
If you happen to be on a pvp server simply summon an alt to the fp you are bombing from and log into him while you wait for the alliance to leave.
