Yes its a huge PITA to get going. There's a specific dev who authors a rotation that has a custom loader for keybinding and macro creation. It certainly minimizes the work to get things going, but it doesn't remove it. GGLoader is very dated, and to be frank, of the 6 specs I tried, logged and tested, every single one of them were behind Rice.

But more so than just being "behind" on the logs (both DPS and DTPS) the functionality of GGLoader is years behind on things like @, @ and even any macro's with modifiers can be either unable to be used, or broken.

Simple things like Taunting, instead of a @ taunt, the client will tab through targets until it gets to the target you've lost threat on, taunt, then go back to your current target. From what I read, there is a way to mark, auto focus, then taunt focus, but setting up even simple macro's is such an effort, I didn't bother trying this 'feature'

Want to kick? You need half a dozen keybindings. K, thats hyperbole, but point is its an absolute gong show. Something as simple as a mouseover kick from what I can tell, isn't possible without paying them 50 bucks to set up for you.

Even when you do get comfortable with creating the keybindings on the GGL client, making the Macro's BP, there's numerous skills that you have keybind in game to different skills in the client. They dont have something as simple as ThunderClap able to be keybound and macro'd. You have to bind it to a different skill, its almost amateur hour over there.

I will say their Customer Service, GGL CS, is phenomenal. Was helpful, polite, quick to reply, and an absolute pleasure speaking with.

I spent 100s of dollars getting GGL and the rotations. It was a complete waste of money.

Anyone interested in PvE GGL I'd say stay far away. Its dated, acts like a unlocker with client and rotations being separate, needs 4 or so addons to work, the 3rd party devs who write PvE tanking rotations, they range from dated and poor, to recently updated and poor. They're behind in every single metric that matters in terms of DPS, DTPS, Healing vs Rice.

I didn't try PvP, I still might, from what I understand they're the best PvP Pixel Rotation available. So thats interesting, but based on the PvE experience, the set up experience, the macro/addon/keybinding experience, I'm not expecting much.


I haven't tried any other Pixel Bots other than Elk, Rice and GGL. I'm always open to trying great rotations though. But without question Rice is the best one I've tried.

Hopefully those isolated bannings are just that, and not something bigger.

I was thinking of trying GGL, as a current rice user thanks for your review i'll stick with rice, GGL has to be the most overhyped rota ever

Of course, not all users were banned, so it is not called detecting, but it is true that they were banned.

I find your experience really interesting, as someone who's currently using ggl, and did try Rice, for me ggl performs way better, im currently top 50 prot tank on na using a certain prot warrior profile from a dev, and i have multiple high ranking rogue logs as well. all of them which have performed way better then rice ever did for me. now i can't deny ggl does feel outdated in some aspects, but as long as you go with a dev that doesn't try to do everything at once you'll have a great experience.

There may be some amount of comfort with the GGL client, addons, ect which you benefit from. In terms of performance, I logged dozens upon dozens of runs and every single one without fail Rice performed better than GGL, specifically Prot Warrior which is my "Rice main"

Would also add in my experience, the devs at Rice if you have a good suggestion they'll straight up implement it that day. Not all devs obviously, there's one Dev who used to write for Elk who's still a bit slow on things, but for the most part devs there are phenomenal.

Every single spec is updated and current. Tanks, healers, everything. I dont think the same can be said for GGL or any other provider tbh. Without slamming down more cash for yet another profile, that requires yet another addon, that may or may-not have keybindings, ect ect.


Anyways, clearly your happy and performing well and thats awesome. If its been some amount of time since you've tried Rice, I highly suggest it. I think you'd be shocked.

The Prot Pally rotation is legit absurd right now. Prot Warrior too.

You say "finally" like they had a good run, but Rice is HyperElk's rebrand. This is now their 5th ban wave. They only lasted 2 months under a new alias, lol.

Better off running an unlocker at that point.

A lot of rice users got banned, yeah. But a lot aren't banned and are still running.

No one knows what the banned had in common (yet). I used rice for 2 weeks now and I'm not banned. Other are using it for months and aren't banned either. Some used it for only the last 3 days and are banned.

It's called a ban wave.
These accounts are likely already flagged and will be banned soon.
The same approach was used with lua unlockers , there were multiple waves of bans to keep users guessing about what triggered them.

I would wager that it still has the same signatures that he used for Elk, because I know for a fact it wasn't changed between detection 2 and 3. All that's changed is probably the UI.
