Short URL tool [ opinions needed ]

Hi all,

A friend of mine developed a new platform for creating short urls . From long URLs like : to . Currently he needs more feedback from you guys, so any help is much appreciated. Also, logged in users can check social media comments/shares/likes and twits for their links.

How about a URL recognizing system?

I can't submit without "http://" and I can submit single letters like "http://a"
And perhaps he should remove the anonying ad as long there are no customers? Just my opinion.
