Lately I am using Netbeans a lot because I am doing a lot of PHP scripting.
If you want to do a lot with HTML, I would recommend using the DreamWeaver code editor.
Btw. I mainly work with remote files. That's why I choose these editors.

If you work with local files, I think, Sublime is one of the best editors (note: I absolutely don't like the remote files plugins, but Sublime should also be able to work with remote files).

As "normal" editors I use MS Notepad (since it's clean and simple and the best tool for notes) and PSPad. PSPad is similiar to Notepad++.

PHP Storm is great! You should download the 30 days trial, for making your own experience.

Visual web-development software just isn't as reliable as the code itself. I've used Notepad++ for two years now, and I've never looked back. It's free, easy to use, and has a syntax highlighter for as many programming/scripting/markup languages as you could name.

Best is Sublime Text 2.
It`s really fast and has a variety of handy faetures.
Just try it out for free.
Jeffery Way made a great course for using this Editor, so check it out

Working on real project and not some single-file ones I personally prefer Eclipse with the PDT (and maybe Aptana for HTML/CSS Stuff)
Mainly because it support a lot of other languages (only Java by default, but there are a lot of plugins)
Also: it's free & open source
Otherwise I use Notepad++ for taking notes and other kinds of stuff (its comparing feature is really usefull)
