Regarding middlemen
Hello,
So, I've noticed there are few complaints regarding the current middlemen from normal users that cannot do their job properly and/or scam new users.
My idea is to add official free middlemen from Epvp. The forum would be much safer and a happy place to spare the free time as well. I have seen a forum that does so and works pretty well.
Hope you can consider my idea!
Regards, Stubb♥rn

Hard to manage and I think it isn't necessary. They should just stick to their work as mods.
If they want to do it voluntarily, they could do it without having to change whole epvpers.

My idea was not to allow normal users to be middlemen. The forum would get much safer if the staff would be part of the middlemen trades.

There is a reason why mods are currently not allowed to act as middlemen (damage to elitepvpers' reputation in case a mod scams)
also you would highly favor "official" mods above "normal" middleman, damaging the "normal" middleman sales in case they take a cut

That would also happen if user would stop instantly trusting every new user and use middlemen which barely meet the middleman requirements

That's why i said , epvp can remove "normal" middlemen and add only "official" and about the rule that no mods are allowed to middleman, they can get chosen carefully.

People will scam. Often, there's no way around it. Making someone have an official title doesn't change anything. I've seen people with 1,000 + TBM scam, moderators scam, and other "trusted" users scam. Granting users a title does nothing more than convincing vulnerable people to trust said user with middleman status thus allowing easier routes of scamming.
Although, I don't completely disagree with your idea. Allocated middlemen with the title wouldn't be a bad thing - It's just I don't agree with a status/title/rank as the right way of going about it. Everyone scams and if the staff allocated a user this title and he ended up scamming people - it would look bad on the staff here for trusting him initally.

I totally agree with : "if the staff allocated a user this title and he ended up scamming people - it would look bad on the staff here for trusting him initally."
But there can be taken measures to prevent that. For example, former staff seems to be more trusted that users with high TBM. Also, the guys who apply for middlemen can give their real life info such identity card etc. I think would be a good step.

But then it falls right back to the initial complaint I was talking about. Everyone scams, and there's often no way around that. Granting someone with high TBM ratings to get the role is just as useful as it is looking at a users profile and thinking you can trust him because of his ratings (talking in terms of seeing him with a middleman rank)

I do like the core of the idea. This is surely something to consider when revamping our black market and trading system should we eventually be at that point. Since this has to be further specified, we'll be open for additional ideas regarding such specifications.

Maybe it's possible to add a rank like 'Support' for Mai-Lin in the black barket for some trusted people who act as middleman? But i think there should be more than one person with it because there are many trade offers every day.

Nobody is trusted on the internet. What if we add someone as a trusted middleman and he starts scamming as soon as he doesn't care about epvp anymore?

As Der-Eddy already said, I think there is a good reason that Moderators are not allowed to act as a middleman. I think it is like Zonkee said, that nobody in the Internet is really trusted, even if they have the ID-Verified Badge. Implementing an official middleman system is, in my opinion, not needed and would kill the current middleman system. If you follow our guides on how to trade safely and use every system we have to make trading on elitepvpers safer, you should be as safe as you can get. If we implement an official middleman system you will not achieve a new crazy high level of safety.

There was only one case where a moderator scammed other users, and we did our very best to solve this case as fast as possible. In general our moderators are selected out of a handful of users that helped the community. Being a moderator means that the administration trusts you in a level to give you a section to moderate. But (!) this is never a guarantee that a user will always stay as helpful as he is currently.

What makes you think that LekoArts is more trustworthy than anyone?
Wearing an admin badge doesn't exclude the fact, that he could still start scamming someone. Even though it's extremely unlikely.

LekoArts would never scam anyone, not even when he could do it without getting caught. He is the guy that replies to your PM after 20 seconds and the guy who holds the door for you. x3
It is his attitude which shows how he would handle such things and he wouldn't do it at all.
And I am never wrong about judging the peoples personality.
Psst, I wouldn't trust that guy called Zonkee, but keep it for you.
(joke!)
