There are no guilds as far as I know
I found something in the chardata packet(name field and some values) which looks like it's supposed for guild info, but no matter what I enter as name, it never shows up ingame.
That's why I guess that guilds didn't exist back then

I had pics of it but I lost them.

That would be pretty awesome for a custom area though, you could rename it as your own for your server

eh
It really is just plain there and if you walk far enough you will come to the edge of the whole area(texture/ground stops there).
Not really something you would open for players if there are other areas waiting to be used

ECSRO files...
maps are from the open beta client, however you guys are right, the maps coordinates are different then the new clients.
for example map 99/132 in ecsro/vsro/blabla is 53/43 in the open beta client.
and it seems that the navmesh in open beta client is calculated in a different way then the newer clients, we have been trying to figure it out for a while now, still no success >.<

Don't even bother trying to get them running
It's not only the coordinates and navmesh, but also Packets. There are differences as well, which makes it pretty much impossible

Even if we can't get it to work, there are other ways to prevent people from going to takala, our main point is making a 60 cap server on ecsro files, ofcourse after fixing the shitloads of bugs that comes with it xD
it won't be the same as the original with no river between hotan and dw and stuff, but it's still playable and not that much different
also, packets don't matter, were not using the old client's sro_client and files, were using ecsro ones but with modified maps and pk2s from the old client

Should be possible to use old terrains in vsro, conversion would be needed, convert old objects to new coordinate system should be enought(include meshes).

You said about packets, i am talking about import map to vsro files not about running old beta client with vsro files.

How am I supposed to run that client without the server files?

Maybe as a parallel map? Like mirror dimension? Not sure if it can be implemented, though, but it would be a use - you wouldn't have to remake the whole thing for a server.

WoW Open Beta Files / Alpha 2004
02/07/2007 - World of Warcraft - 2 Replies
Does anyone have the original WoW Open Beta or Alpha from pre-launch back in 2004 still? Perhaps on CD, or still installed on their computer. I wanted to get a copy of the MPQ files to play around with. If anyone has them, or can direct me to a download that would be awesome!
