Hello ,
So what is the situation on Memory ?
The server is 2 months old today which is BIG for a cap 80 server.
We see a lot of projects without success and/or success for only 3 weeks.
We, at Memory, did the opposite, we started at launch with 55 players online ... that was very low and a lot of people told me that serv would last only 2 weeks ... but a lot of ppl got interested by the server and decided to join and we have more than 1000 accounts created and a record of 400 players (more or less) online at the same time.
It is my first server and I learnt a lot, I didn't know anything about server before launching Memory.
I had a lot of help from @
and learnt a lot from him.
Today, a lot of main players that were making the server active decided to leave :frowning: It is summer time and a lot of players are AFK, on vacation or playing way less, and I totally understand that.
Old school project are not as active are big name (Electus, Eagle etc), but I tried to implement some activities.... but failed, except unique hunting that was very active, not a lot of player jobbing, almost 0 player on the daily events and 0 player on Arena.
It was my bad, I failed a bit to regulate the economy and there was no attractive price for being active on the events...
So where are we going now with Memory ?
I'm being 100% transparent guys, the server will still be alive 14 days !
Maybe I can add some small things to stimulate you guys, but if in 14 days, I still see the player counts going down, I will not renew the contract with the hosting agency.
Why ?
I had a big plan for September, including the opening of Roc Mountain, the cap upgrade (ONLY) to 81 (not 90) to have access to D9. D9 cap 81 can be very fun and pvp can be way more intense and less ZZzzzzZZ than cap 80 where PVP last very long.
But, after talking to Hecktor, he told me that it would be too big update and player counts is too low and wouldn't be worth spending so much time on an update on a server with such a low player count.
I know new players are coming daily and I thank you all for being part of the memory family, but despite the new players, there is no new guild being created and/or active. And we all know that Silkroad Server is depending on donation to stay alive !
So guys, enjoy the next 14 days, let see how things are moving even though I doubt that 150 new players would join the server.

I was alone on this managing everything and I was facing a mountain (I was learning how to move through the database, how to manage a filter, how to make ads on facebook, on private groups, on other discord, on forums, I was also being my own silk seller, my own graphist and my own webmaster). But thank god I met some nice people that joined me to give me a hand and make this project REAL. Big thanks to Hecktor, Raymond, Comanche, the supporters, Invictus guild, Insanity, Inmortales (gone too soon), and Neurosis !
As for me, if in 14 days I’ve no other choice than closing Memory, I will take some time for me and maybe think of a new server but this time with a better regulated economy and better activity for late game. I thought people would be happy with a pure old school project but that was not the case, I learnt from my mistakes and I know how to stimulate player now.
I’ll keep the Discord alive even after the end of the server (IF WE END IT), and I’ll let you know if I work on a bigger project but this time way more organized.
This is not the end of Memory, we are one big family and I swear that if I have to close the door on the 14th of August, it will not be the end of Memory. My plan is still the same. I don’t care about making tons of money (ofc if I work 50 hours a week, I except to get some), and my plan will always be to have a stable server that might last at least a few months ! (My ideal would be a 6 to 9 months active server).
You guys can still help by offering suggestion #suggestions, and you can still stay around because we became friends … I mean, we became family, the MEMORY FAMILY !
