What the hell is wrong with you people thinking your server can handle 4000+ players? What makes you think Silkroad can support more than 4000 players? Please put an end to the spread of this cancer. You're no better than Joymax, who stated in the documents that the game can only have 3500 legitimate players plus 500 premium players. Without delving too deeply into the explanation, I'll give you an example. Hopefully, you will stop using numbers greater than 4000 on your website. Silkroad makes use of a single Shard Manager. With 3500 players, the amount of packets sent from all modules to a single shard is already very high. Assume you are running 8x game servers, and you have 1500 players in parties on your server. The shard manager will try to send 1500 party refresh packets per second, plus whatever else is queued. Please stop making your website counter more than 4000, and at the very least be truthful about something. Consider the TRSRO grand opening with 3500 players. Keep in mind that TRSRO files are compiled by visual studio 2015 x64 modules, yet the grand opening is still lagging like hell with 3500 players. Compared to vsro which are compiled by visual studio 2005 x86 single thread. yet you people still put 10,000 capacity seriously? I hope this changes things, but I doubt it.

Sadly servers are faking the Packet 0xA101. I was planning in doing something rev6 did with reading all the players for preventing that fake numbers.

Also thanks for that statement.

In the minds of the server owners, if the server did not have 10000/10000, it failed. Regrettably, all of the players follow the same path. It saddens me that people are being manipulated. Ignoring the 0xA101 packet for now, but people will just open the website to look for the counter; if the counter is less than 3000, the server is dead. Moreover, I like your idea so much please proceed, i would like to help in my free time.

I was doing some researches , if it's possible that shard manager can handle more than 3500 players, cuz I was always wondering how the hell and what kind of modules are they using that can handle 10k players , I was checking their websites and I was getting amazed by the number of players, so in the end it's just #fake. Thanks for sharing this information @ , nice idea

That'd be a great idea. Certainly a good way to weed out servers worth playing, and ones which aren't.

@, i have a question, Pr0x claims that electus runs on 10 gameservers, thats how his server can handle 10 000 chars, could u state ur opinion in this?

What i wrote above is a fact, and dont expect anyone owns a server to tell you the truth. Silkroad cannot exceed 4000 players. It became a trend, and everyone is doing it to prove that his/her server did not fail. Imagine 3500 legit players, look how is TRSRO videos / fortress / populations etc. What im saying is human eyes can also decide which is fake, and which is not.

I was thinking the same for a long time, but I must admit, I definitely saw the 5k range in last few years.
I guess with proper resource management and some tweaks it's possible.
I don't know about the 10k-ish numbers.

I'm sorry but game servers have nothing to do with players.
AgentServer is the module for characters connected online.

Silkroad become worse year by year.

But how could we (the epvp mods) could check that this is legit. I've have an idea on how to manage that automaticly

I do believe from the beginning that the files cannot handle more than 3.5k players even with multi agents,gameserver and till now none brove that he got that amount of players even the joymax havent did it when it was the best mmo between 2005~2010 so no matter what server around with xxxxx players amount wont even believe it. The dumb one who could believe that,and mega already prove that the files cannot handle it since he or some got the source or whatever already.
