How To Properly Save DDJ Texture Files ?

Hi,

I have a question that maybe is quite simple to answer. I hope someone can help.

There is a problem with "Metallic Sheen" option when i create a new dds file.

A picture will say more than a thousand words.

Here is a original Devil Spirit (with original .ddj files):

But when i used an edited ddj file this is how it looks:

It's obviusly that I'm saving it in a wrong way.

What I did:
Edit the file in PS
Save it as 1.5.5.5 with Nvidia Plugin (I tested all possible nvidia plugin alternatives already)
Convert .dds to .ddj with DDS/DDJ Tool
Result: Wrong metallic sheen result

You can try to use paint.net to save your DDS file.
This is what I found related to file format:

Saving DDS
Recomended formats:
Picture without transparency: R5G6B5
Picture with one invisible area A1R5G5B5
Fully transparent picture A8R8G8B8

I already tried Paint.net and those settings but the result is the same

I tried to save it using "Linear DXT3 ", at least it is written like that in the DDJ header of the nasrun file.
There is still a little bit of metallic shine on the body, but way less than your picture. Maybe you should try to go with an original nasrun ddj file and try a little bit of convertion/saving.
Maybe you can find a way to make it better and start to change the picture from that point on.
