I'd say get something with a better CPU and an SSD.

what's 'for starting'? if you mean 500-1000 players, nope. That CPU is pretty much garbage...
and yes i'd say SSD is essential, you'll have "ecsro lag" at some point (monsters can walk, attack, players can't do anything)

cpu is more than enough for 500 to 1000
i wouldn't bother with an ssd though it would be nice to have
TESTED
I used to have the i5-2500k (should be close to the i5-2300) for my home server
1k npcs running around fusing items killing monsters opening stalls
never went above 50% (SQL usually took more than half of that amount)
5400RPM x 500GB hdd
also, i thought kimsufi only sold linux?

Oh ty bro, "1k npcs" u mean 1k players? hehe. OVH support told me this server its not good for games "Because there is no Game anti-DDoS protection on them and bandwidth is not guaranteed", maybe they´re lying just for sell theyre expensive servers?. U said u tested it, but did u tested about ddos atacks?, finally u recommend that server for at least 500 -800 players? THX FOR ANSWER BRO. (Y)

just bots playing the game not real players
i would take their advice a dedicated server with anti-ddos (specifically Game Dedicated Servers from ovh) are great since they provide layer7 protection which is probably the reason hyperfilter is so expensive(not sure)
overall ovh provides the best anti ddos for games (i used them myself) and it has nothing to do with expensive servers(people expect expensive hyperfilter servers to be superior to ovh mid range prices)
finally, yes i would recommend it for 500-800 players
i wouldn't count on any ddos protection they provide for these servers
100 euros is not expensive for a sro server (if you plan on selling silks)

cool,
i wouldn't recommend using any cracked tools.
as for the website, use a framework or koks' pservercms which i believe uses ZendFramework 3 (which is an amazing framework)
you don't need to worry about security on your website there's not much to protect anyway
if you want to do it yourself i would recommend using codeigniter
