System ideas and what you would like to see?
Hey there everyone, hope you are all well.
Today I am hear to discuss private server systems and what you would all like to see in a server.
I'm not speaking because I am making a server myself, I'm speaking because everyone is simply getting fed up with servers opening and closing so fast due to failing miserably and the server having too many bugs and always in 'Check' and restarts.
So, my question to you all is: What would you guys think (hypothetically speaking) would make a great Silkroad private server? What systems and ideas do you have to make a server succeed and be open for more than one month?
Leave all of your thoughts and ideas below, they all are appreciated.

This scene is not to satisfy anymore. Those so called "inventions" and "new" ideas led to an oversaturation! There is nothing left anymore.
Without the source files, no one is going to succeed with anything.

I personally think that most of the servers nowadays die because of those so called "silk scrolls". Why? The answer is simple. They make gold valueless and kill jobbing since everybody can just use silks to buy/sell items instead of jobbing to get gold to buy and sell items. It's pretty annoying to play a server and see a global saying "WTS SPEAR SOS +7 OFFER ONLY SILK". You might say that donators will still be able to sell premiums and silk for gold or trade them for items, I'd say yes, you're kinda right, but who would exchange his precious item for 12 premiums which he will also eventually sell for gold? Another reason of servers' early death is those so called "Custom Trade Routes" which also kill the fun at jobbing.. Do you remember the old days when you felt like you've done a very great achievement when you could finally find a caravan running and take it down with your pt after searching in the whole map? Trade routes make this feeling non existent since all traders/hunters stick to the same routes 24/7 and thieves know where to find them.
Another thing that makes servers die in a few months is that they don't welcome the new comers i.e. extremely high prices for end-gears which make new comers feel like it'll be almost impossible to catch up with the old ones with these mad prices, this also makes new comers feel like it's even more impossible if one of the currencies used to get end-gear is obtained by selfish solo activities i.e. CTF & unique hunting.
That's all. Everything I wrote above is my PERSONAL opinion which I believe is the reason of the early death of all the servers nowadays.

I do belive that if we got a zszc server / Ecsro/ Ecsro VIP , but orginally no freaking hybrid , go back to real old school style i think thats the thing that need to happend for everything to go back to the old style

I agree with you in almost everything, except about the silk scroll, you're right about it make gold less valuable, but it's not because it just exist, it's because that how most of server design it to be. They all make gold rates high as fuck and since gold is damn easy to get, everybody will just trade things with silk. The biggest fault is in server's economy design rather than just the fact that silk scrolls exist. Just my opinion though.
On-Topic:
Personally, most of servers dies pretty much because of the already mentioned things and more. Devs now only care about getting fast money, close and re-open when no money left. Just look at reality, P2W server closed and they suddenly come with a $300 contest to catch up guilds for their next project (Reality 2) and milk more money.
Being honest, my ideal server would be a either a Cap 110 totally reworked to fix all joymax system or a Cap 70/80 server that will get updated every X months to a higher cap. Keep everything as old school as possible. I'm not against edits, but just don't make the server to feel like other game, many servers don't even care about the most important things of a MMORPG like Quest/Craft/Dungeons, they just copy from other "successful" server, adds their "touch", milk money and close.
Making a true long term server is not hard, it just that people prefers money than a quality server, while others want a quality server but they didn't play joymax sro enough to know what to do (They just add random "balance" changes, makes everything easy like x50 exp in low caps or end gear in less than 1 week or whatever)
Server features for a good server (IMO):
- Low exp rates (from x10 to x20 in caps 70-100, x15-x25 in cap 110)
- No a ton of SP (SP farming was nice, just don't make it annoying and hard like joymax, you can shine with repeatable quests here for SP Farm grinding)
- Good SoX system (I'm not against coin system, just don't make everything coin based, Arena Coins for ACCs, FGW for Weapon/Shield, Maybe Dungeon Quests Story to get end Gear)
- Gold and Trade rate x1 (Yes, don't touch it, any higher value will just make gold less valuable. Instead, just low all items sell price to avoid goldbotters so people will be forced to Job and make quests or go to dungeons/FGW to make some gold)
- Fix the boring system of Joymax, no sox from botting 24/7, make something new or just different, daily quest to get stone/elixir packs, hunt uniques to get nice item/stone drops (without feeling forced to do this as not everybody likes to focus on unique hunting), get something special from jobbing besides gold (Of course, not big prizes to avoid thief cheating)
- Make jobbing more exciting, joymax had a great idea to make Consignment Merchant in new job system (This is and job-exclusive items are the only things I like from new job system) So you can make big job events, they don't need to be automatic, you can just edit a Behemoth HP to make it hard to kill and make a Hunter vs Thief manual event, or enable a map to make job-related events (Like joymax did with Styria Clash).
- Teach people there are more routes than just jangan, donwhang and hotan. Many people don't know what's bargain event, teach them about them and you'll see nobody will ever ask for "custom trade routes", default routes are already enough and exciting.
- Keep the old school environment, don't add too much custom content to the game. It just creates a hype for few weeks and people will bore it.
- Make it casual player-friendly and newcomer-friendly, Don't make everything exclusive for cap lvl (maybe only arena and ctf to avoid cheating with alts in low lvls)
