I've adjusted the Rogue's Rapid Shot skill to hit more than 3 targets at a time and that works fine, but the skill effect doesn't match and it causes some strangeness.
Basically only 3 visible bolt effects are instantiated and in turn only 3 damage numbers are displayed client side. On the server all 12 monsters are hit but the client only knows how to deal with 3 of them and waits for the server to delete the other 9 monsters. Kind of difficult to explain but here's a video.

As you can see only 3 bolts are fired and 3 targets hit on the client but after the server sends an update the rest of the mobs die.
Any ideas are appreciated.
E: Before anyone asks, I did update the skilldataenc in the client which is why it shows the correct number on Simultaneous attack.
