due to the fact that the last 10 of 14 pages were complete bullshit i wanted to contribute something useful to the topic and mention the things that piss me off / could improve the gameplay

Low Importance (not much hate, but still nice if reworked --> Quick Win)

- Steady stones / durability reduce on items
- Minor bugs: dagger's speed bug, stall/exchange bug at pvp etc.
- annoying bugs: stun + knock down = bug, kock back + knock down = bug, we all hate it, isn't there a solution for this?
Like giving the char that is stunned a knock down resistance of 100% for as long as the stun takes, the char that gets knocked back a kd resistance of 1 sec

Mid Importance

- there is no variety of gear: 90% garment, 9% prot, < 1% armor
As "WannaSun" mentioned in another thread: why did nobody overwork the extras of them (speed, mp consumption). I was thinking of balancing garm and armor so that their extras are somehow similar, like giving armor the extra of 20% less mp consumption, too, so using armor would make sense for INTs. The extras of protector should be changed in a negative manner, because it already has a good balance between phy/mag def. So if an INT wants to use prot he has to deal with 10% more MP consumption than with garm/armor.
This was just an example, I hope u get the idea.


High importance

- like mentioned earlier: TIMESINKS !!!
I guess there is nothing easier than that, some serious restrictions are required for the end game items. People addict the shit out of the game for 1 month, completely gear themselves up with endgame gear and suddenly the server dies.

- rework the alchemy system
+11 Probability 2%
+12 Probability 1%
I mean what's the point of that? This is just leading to unnecessary rage quits. The higher plusses (let's say +10 and above) should be achieved in another way. It shouldn't be a matter of luck. But we should also have to work alot for the higher plusses.

- Botting
Did you hear of any Bots in WoW? Botting shouldnt give you anything. No elixirs, no gold, no sox, no drops at all. Things like this should be achieved through instances!
Stall chars with 10k elixirs of each sort?

- no limitation of races
I know it's hard to balance EU & CH. But there is a fact... joymax didn't add Euros for nothing. Euros are meant to support the teamplay, this teamplay lacks in every "only chin" server in my opinion. Or have you seen an "only chin" server where killing Medusa or any other hard unique was fun? If they were added at all. Of course killing uniques is not the only aspect of teamplay that i mean.

- improving the job system
Jobbing should be necessary to get endgame gear, like it's used in many servers. But have a look at Electus for example, 200 traders are tracing 1 unsuited guy, the hunters as well, if there are any lol.
Probable solution: tracing in job mode is off and chars that have job suits on can't be traced

- rework Battle Arena
Less Random BA, more Party, Guild and Job BA. In BA you are dependent on your team, it's not like CTF where you can still get a lot of coins with a bad team, that's why BA shouldn't be random at all in my opinion. CTF is random enough. Plus, who doesn't hate the AFKers at random BAs?

- giving Guilds much more importance/features
Maybe making guildwars necessary for endgame gear like the job system?! With a ranking on the website and stuff like that.
I also thought about making Guild Points/Skill Points be worth something and combining it with killing uniques. You don't start with 2m SP, and you don't need any SP to add your skills. You can only get GP/SP by killing uniques, not by killing mobs. The whole server would start going for the big uniques like Medusa etc., not because of the drops but the GP/SP they can get just by attacking it. Otherwise only 2-3 parties will attend uniques like Medusa because the others know that they won't get the kill anyway. Maybe the low uniques like TG should be adjusted to the max lvl on the server?! Just for GP/SP purposes.
Fortress war items should only be available with GP, and also much more other items like stronger Trade pets maybe? Or even making guildwars/guild BA cost a specific amount of GP.. sky is the limit bitches there can be so much variety

- balancing EU/CH
I'm pretty sure that no matter how good the GMs are in server creating based things, most of them lack the experience in playing with all the builds themselves. Imo balancing the races is as important as making a server stable 24/7, but still most of the servers don't invest enough time to this. They just listen to the community (most of the noobies lack the experience as well) and react to it. Why don't you guys get some skilled volunteers that would help you out with this (maybe at the open beta stage of your server?!).

- regularly held PVP EVENTS / non automated events
Of course the automatic events are cool, but you also need to interact with the players a bit. Just hold a PVP Event once a week, or a lucky crit event... whatever

I hate that there is no Endgameplay.
Every single Server which exists has good Ideas, but no matter what - after getting the whole Equipment the Story ends. Some ppl keep freaking and hardcore playing but most leave coz of this reason.
If there would be an - maybe Endless? - Gameplay and Endcontent smth like 3 days offline decrease the item + by 1 or reset the Level to XX dunno. (just a suggestion)

B2T - Silkroad died long time ago, everbody is trying to make custom stuff and totaly forget the story behind Silkroad in anyway. Joymax started destroying Silkroad with the 110 cap in my opinion, wich fuckign Asian-Dude would ever walk along to bring some goods from Asia to Egypt, lel.. What ever, i'd do anything to get joymax back to the 80's times , everything else is just ****** up, P-SRO-Scene made a whole new game out of this ****.

Why nobody try to open a primitive 60 cap server like iSRO before. No special debuffs like Bleed etc., no fw, just a one grab pet, one attack pet and maybe a ticket. Remove the 60+ areas from the map to get the retro feeling (i know its just a little thing but some little things makes a big one). Make the rates pretty low like x1,5 max x3 (iSRO rates), i know its annoying but bring farming ton of sp many weeks back, make a balance between alchemy and drop rate to make a full blue or a +5 item something mega special. Some little changes like remove lv 60 (70, 80, 90...)normal mobs to make getting the last tier items harder + give unique hunting after u reach the cap, a point. Raise the cap after some months. That way would be the game harder, need more time to reach a fb + x set, which it could be a long term server. I hate that edited server, starting from changed loading screens till changed glows or skins, let lv 100 mobs spawn in a different area

Wanted to start playing sro again but iSRO is like "buyertyt silks to get max lwl ytem" and pservers are just edited like hell, full of sun and +7 items or even much more higher, reaching max level after 3 days. Wtf where is the point of the game is just to easy. x10 rates on servers where you can use a bot which can run 24/7. I miss the old times where ur was ultra happy after reached the lvl cap and hope that the new update dont come that fast...

sro_client.exe has crashed after doing an update, lets check what the error is "open dumps" finds no error what so ever describing which .txt is crashing.

or second version, open dumps and there is not even a .dmp file in the Silkroad folder, have to check everything manually, LINE by LINE, VALUE by VALUE

I don't think I've ever had a client sided issue that I couldn't solve if I spent a bit of time on it...

Client problems are usually really simple. Also, its pretty normal that dumps aren't directly readable by the user. Usually they contain sensitive client logic information.

I agree, but such problems could be solved easily by just tracking back what you did and what you didn't do.. Or just add stuff 1 by 1 testing if the client will "like" that edit or not

There are too much shit I hate about Private sro atm, but these are the ones that came up on my mind right now.


Quests should be more important than that, they have some good plots there and they are actually challenging to do. Servers should change the rewards on some of these quests to actually give you some nice stuff instead of making a new quests npc with unique hunting + job cave quests.


Capture the flag should also be more rewarding same as battle arena. Screw the coins and trophies. They should award you some random shit when you complete it. Rewards as low as a reverse to good shit like a GDF for example.


Guild wars should have better rewards. 1b is just useless at the moment. The guild wars should be more serious + challenging. For example a guild could challenge another for items or perhaps they could challenge them for a war, and who wins gets to take ownership of the fortress.


Fortress uniques are also pretty useless. They should drop something good, something unique that only fortress owners get to have.


Trades , These are just the most pathetic things about servers nowadays i guess. People just load up their silk pets, trace the leader and that's it. You become rich. I guess they should be more challenging. More people should like consider being hunters. But at the moment trades in servers are like 200 buffalos, 10 hunters. The npcs shouldn't disappear after moving on for 30 seconds, they should also be stronger, maybe even have abilities that could slow you down other than cold, knocking down maybe? (chuckle)


Uniques, they are supposed to be challenging to kill, not the first one to reverse to the spawn place gets the zerk, maybe a boost in their hp or attack power should be good.


The bow mastery, bowers are one of the weakest, if not the weakest characters on silkroad. For sure they are really fun to play and use but you can never beat any STR character with an STR bower. All servers just boost chinese characters, which still makes bowers weak compared to other chinese characters.


Job caves, job caves are a great way to encourage job pvping. Most servers also have job caves to gather good items, but seriously. People don't go to job cave to fight over their spots. They setup a script and bot for all week, even if they keep dying, they wont stop.


Roc and Medusa These uniques are really challenging and are fun to kill, especially medusa. But never have I ever been in a server where people go to medusa and roc parties to kill the unique in their spawn area, not just in events. Maybe it does happen at medusa sometimes, but more people should go there, maybe add valueable drops to them. And if the server is a high cap, their hp and attack should be more so that players will not kill them in 10 minutes.


11D Seth and Haroeris these 2 are by far the strongest uniques in silkroad. But in most servers people never give a fuck about them, even in 11D coin based servers, people just go to isis/anubis/neith/selket. No one ever thinks about entering the Haroeris room and Seth room, I think if there is a 11D server there *cough* amaethon *cough* , they should add special drops that only drop from these 2 uniques. perhaps a kick ass weapon that drops from seth and maybe set and accessory from haroeris.


FGW (Not last tier) I have never, and I mean never. Seen a person set foot in these. Maybe it's because of the high exp rate, no one has time to go to FGW which isn't the last tier. But seriously, if you could add drops in these, or a quest maybe that grants a lot of gold/experience or any other valuable item. These should be really worth it.


Stackable stones I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this one, but what's the challenge of buying 1000 stones from stalls, setting up your alchemy bot to max all blues + stats. This should be harder, just like the old days, dismantle items to get elements and mix the elements with tablets to get 1 stone. It is a pain in the ass, but it would make your time worth it when you're full blue rekting some guy that has been trading all day. I think this should be done for blues only, since attribute stones are actually really hard to fuse so it would be impossible to reach 80% if the stones are not stackable.


Grains in NPC , these things are absolute cancer. A warrior/cleric for example will never die with healing+recovery division+grains+vigors. He could just warcry and pwn the shit out of everyone. And I personally think is unfair for the chinese. And finally, grains in npc are the main reason warlock/rogue exists.


Attack pets these should be something you are looking forward to have, not something you own and work your ass off to lvl them up for show off. They should get like a boost for their attack and defense. Seriously at the moment they are really useless.


Auto events, well they aren't all that bad. For example the Trivia is pretty good, however when there is like an event every 5 minutes, this gets pretty annoying. The spam on notices, i personally thing they should be carried out on globals only.


Silk scrolls, no.. Please no. These just cancel out the importance of gold. You need to buy silks to trade for items or to simply buy any other item with it. This means donators could simply just increase their silk prices which would result in every single item ingame to have it's price increased.

I think that an elixir of every type should be given with 100% success rate for guild masters that own the fortress for more than 1 week, for example 2 Weeks = Accessory , 3 Weeks = Protector , 4 Weeks = Shield , 5 Weeks = Weapon. It sounds pretty tough but it is kind of achievable and it would be great for the owners of the fortress.
