Taking donations to at least compensate the costs has nothing to do with the dedication to your players.

If you can't afford to do it, don't do it.

I'm not saying people will definitely pay for it without taking donations, but if you yourself are taking the role as a Server Owner, you can expect to have stressful days, arrogant people, etc. It's just part of the job.

But when you think about it, it all comes down to one situation. If you can't afford to pay for protection and will be relying on donations, for better or worse you should just not open a server - for everybody elses sake.

You are one complex child, do you want to understand that NO ONE will spend monthly $500 just for a few players to play and get nothing in return? Well this is how simple I could put it, if you don't understand ....

I know that, that wasn't my point owners who accept donations (and get a lot of them) quickly turn greedier and greedier - then they eventually shut down their server -> spend their profit -> re-open -> repeat

So instead they should reject donations to lose money until they're forced to close the server due to them being broke
