Duh ... it is a great idea ... but, no stable power supply, nor that the smartphones can only handle few hours and get empty afterwards - Facebook surfing ftw...
Other than that, SRO on a mobile phone - kinda useless, unless you can decompile the client, change the engine, etc etc etc.
You cannot play SRO which has been programmed for real GPUs on a weak "GPU" using smartphone. You have to make a great cut upon the graphical aspect.
And as well, the necessary RAM for a server with the all the content till arabia, arabia 2nd, muhan, arenas, consta fortress, samarkand (unofficial) fortress and donwhang (unofficial) fortress - won't work. I assume, that only up to jangan + donwhang and probably Hotan would fit for a smartphone emulation, but where is the fun? want the cap 60s back?
You shouldn't waste your time with it, only if you want it just for fun, but that kind of porting won't fit for a long term usage.

There will be desktop version of emulator aswell released later. Idk why you guys hate this idea so badly. For me its really cool to have mini sro server on my phone/tablet. Also emulator will work under linux(for those who dont know ANDROID is a linux) so vps hosting will be cheaper with desktop version. It will be best desktop emulator aswell.

No brother, it's not about hating the project it seems a good and i am really waiting to see how it looks but just thinking about it i dont think i will play sro on phone

We don't hate it we just don't think we will need sro on phone you can proof we are wrong.. waiting the release..

Also for now i am not planing to move emulator to other Os(such windows phone or iphone). Anyway i suppose that windows and iphone are too heavy limited to make server app on them. |
That sounds amazing, indeed it seems I will start learning some of the android stuff this year in school. An end-of-term project... Some of the silkroad on a tablet.
May have been discussed earlier, but will you share the source code (even with some)? Or only libraries, perhaps?
