Subscription-Based Pservers?

Hi,

The title is pretty-self explanatory. How would players feel about a server with a subscription feature, like how SWSRO2 and ECSROvip were? it could be monthly aswell.

Assuming that the server is worth to play on, knowing that everything inside can be obtained for free through the player's efforts.

From my point of view, there are few advantages :
-Ensure having at least 80% of community who are 18+ (I know, age means nothing, but this should lead into a mature community).
-Goldbotters. I know, right?
-The term "Pay2win" would be completely senseless, even though it's Pay2play.
From the other hand, players could lose interest later on, and there would be no more subscribers, which leads to a dead server of course.

This thread is solely out of curiosity. All opinions are welcome.

Well, its a nice idea and all, but the PSRO scene has way too few people - I also highly doubt they're willing to pay for a private server.

1. Worked because there were no other choices: either wait 2 hours to login or play on ECSRO VIP (which by the way didnt have that many players);
2. Kids donate on normal pservers why do you think only above 18+ would?;
3. Other much better, easier, free ways to disable goldbotting;
4. Remove DS, premium and damage scrolls - pay2win removed.

Server has to be realy unique to get atleast minimum playerbase, i mean new features, new stuff and everything else

Perhaps I didn't explain my theory about the pay2win thing. It is not about who has what items, it's about who gets what and WHEN?
Eventually, everyone will get a premium and a devilspirit even if he didn't donate a cent, it's always about people who donate first will get equipment and gear faster than non-donators.
In the server I proposed, everyone will equally have the same chance to gain items no matter how much he paid in the game, or in this case, how many accounts he activated.
And no, most "kids" don't donate, they usually buy silk stuff ingame using gold.

About the goldbotting, I didn't say it would be nullifying it completely, rather than diminshing it a little bit.

Yea, one more thing, ECSRO vip or SWSRO didn't have many payment options available to ordinary player like myself, I had to buy a used account in the VIP to play.

Not saying to have different methods of acquisition, removing those items completely is a simple solution.

I believe that the 18 plus thingy would not worth. Some people can provide a good donation rate even if they're 14+.. And we all know opening server's purpose ONLY for money.... ECSROvip was actually a kral one because of one reason: trying to create affordable community.

So I'd support this idea if someone'll try to do it.

I wouldn't pay $5 - $10 - $15 - $20 or whatever just to play a 'usual' server with normal features. I wouldn't even pay if it had "godlike" features. Ecsro times are gone, there's no way to revive it back.

Not only that, when I paid for ecsro vip, I never seen anything like it before. People didn't DDOS. The team was reliable. Now? It's not reliable. Owners scam by taking money and leaving. DDoS happens daily.

Stuff like this just isn't possible anymore with the community that has been created.
