Well I don't want to think that Silkroad is not a mainstream anymore, because the game graphics are not so old and actually the age of the game makes only little impact, look at counter strike for example.
I think silkroad is worse because community has spread. Tons of choices, tons of people choose different servers. They run away and just decent servers can't fill themselves up, as they could last year (yeah, I talk from my own experience). So the only solution for me is to just wait for these crappy servers to die, hmpf..

I was the first one to mention it to start off but is because I wanted to make a point(if you want to mention a server, is ok as long as you are not inviting them or posting links)

also, i think SRO, even if popular, is more a cult game rather than a mainstream game(look at the hype of WoW or LoL vs SRO, is not the same)

and yeah, the crappy server ARE DESTINED to die
big servers as well but on slower rate compared to those server, even increasing their time by implementing new stuff, something crappy server wont do

If you can't implement stuff, it does not mean your server is crappy. Knowledge comes up by the time being. You just have to remain as administrator, because most people act as a GM but still want to play and maybe play, who knows, as a normal char. Secondly, it's corruption. Crappy servers are not meant to get profit, but if some kid with some cash will come up and say "c'mon gm i pay u u give me best stuff", crappy servers will drown into corruption. Even some pretty famous servers have corruption. Also important is the manner of managing, if you will for example start event like "UNIQ EVENT JANGEN COM XD" this will obviously look... Pretty terrible.

So yeah, these servers with problems above must die, the problem that because of corruption, most servers can extend root time and survive.

my point was that for those servers, their features are the high rates, nothing more
Bigger servers do more maintenance and try to improve the game by adding new stuff, which lure users by the features rather than the rates

Not sure if you still remember that Server which was based on kSRO, mostly Chinese Peoples played on that Server called "LunaSRO".

EXP was raised insanely after Lv.116 and Uniques were hard as hell (As I heard it, a Party needed over 11 Hours to kill "King COBRA", just to obtain new Items).

Not sure how much I needed for the EXP at Lv.119 but ya, it should be 70-90B and for 124 to 125 you needed around 2.000.000.000.000 EXP just to get capped.

Even with a Bot it takes a Week for a Level Up (Basically jumping the Beginner Phase and then going directly into the End-Content, level didn't mattered at all)

Though, I can't reach their Website anymore, was a lot of fun but the lack of Players killed the Server for me and some other Peoples.

Doubt someone wants a Hardcore Server where EXP Requirements are raised by 5 times (Still you get enough SP to be Full Farmed), Hardcore Uniques their Stats are raised by 2-3 times, Hardcore Instances replaced with Elite Monsters and much more...

Actually I don't see that everything will fail , Atomix have been online and will stay on-line.
Just most of the server owners can't "RUN" a server properly.

Developers who create a server are missing the administrating part.
Sponsors are looking mainly for money.
This is why every single server fail, servers I was part of never thought like that that's why they were and still the best.

OnT: There is nothing else to say. SRO community is lazy and they don't understand the feeling when you work for something and you finally get it/achieve that.

Players dont waste his time to playing because they're kids..
Give them 9999k silk 9999x exp rates and you can easily gain +1,5k pp

Make hard PvE server and kids dont wanna come so you play with professional old players you will gain 200-300 ppl so professional players too little.

Less threads=less crappy servers advertised, less crappy servers adverdised=more players for good servers.
Rule of creating an advertising thread maybe for only premium users?

what else besides pvp and FW is there on sro. i only play for pvp not for grinding for 24 hours a day.

This will only bring more spam from those noobs just so they can open their advertisement thread. The best that can be done as an Admin is to guarantee a stable and longterm server..think about ways to improve the functioning systems which are used by the players to get wealthy..and finally keep it active with an active hopefully non-corrupt crew.

that may be good.

I think advertising section must be made like bots/hacks section, means you can't post a thread without moderation. Moderator checks if thread info is fine, server is working and web too, also check the backlink. After that he opens to public and this server has a reason to stay on the section.
