Then don't open a server  !
The big servers are wasting a lot of money 500$+(min) and can get up to 1,5k/month!
So don't tell me 89.99$/month it's expensive..
Don't even bother opening a server .. Since you get 500$+ with 100 players online ..

if you think 90 euro for a six core 64gb server is a lot I suggest you delete the sro files from your harddrive and start a runescape pserver

Also tell us disk.. SATA II even 8k RPM is slow as **** so I suggest you SSD
|

Get one of those with a 1gbps port and you will stop having problems about lag reaching 400 players. The problem is mostly due to being a VPS machine...they simply can't be compared to dedis, and honestly EX5 is quite stable, reliable, cheap and hetzner support is effective but kinda slow.

Dymer you don't know anything about lags 
Nuvo got root for $450 USD /monthly and they got lags because of disk. They got SATA II 7k RPM, so connection Server <=> MSSQL <=> Client is slow 100mbp/s is enough for 400 players

Im not suggesting hetzner only cuz of lags..hetzner offers good prices for good quality. Paying $450 for a server that doesnt have what you need is pointless xD

Backing to thread, better to use SSD than SATA. SSD should fix the lags problems.

You really don't need 1gbps connection for sro, even if you have 4000 players (let alone that hetzner doesn't have guaranteed gbit ports)

Hetzner also has SSDs, you mean it is lagging because of the random disk access time on normal sata disks, an ssd or a quick 15k sas drive would fix it

Hey,
also ich hab das Problem, das wenn ich mich auf dem Server "Zephion" einloggen will, da immer steht, das der Server in der Wartung ist... Laut der Homepage ist aber alles Online und erst um 0:53 wurde im Forum gesposted, das die Server wieder Online sind... bei mir geht es aber nicht... und der Player Zähler ist auch schon bei der knappen "100" ... Wieso komme ich dann nicht rein? Habe mir root.rar runtergeladen und in den Ordner entpackt, so wie es auf der Homepage steht, falls man...
