There are 2,3 ways to do it actually.
1st one is by OllyDbBg.. There is a beautiful guide by pushedx in the forum. Search for it and you will have it. That is at least how I set my client. The drawback is if you later modify Mastery Level information as well, it may become a little bit buggy yet it works.
2nd one is by using Edxloader . It has the patch itself so you basically dont need to do anything. Or Mbot users also have the autopatch English..
3rd one is by simply downloading other servers' clients. Yet the drawback is there could be some other manipulations as well which don't suit your case. (And you need to find an executable which is compatible with your server like vsro 1.118 or 1.93 blabla...
