TLDR version:
Ideas for private Silkroad server im developing from files available in the community, its not aiming to be top anything server, NOT A USUAL SILKROAD SERVER! its for closed invite only type for friends and interested parties.
Long version:
Well, im sorry for yanking chain for development, few ppl that answered my plea to help me build the server gave very nice prices and im proud to say nobody tried to scam me from this community.
Unfortunately my country does not support paypal (as most ppl wanted it payed) so there was no other way of doing it then making it myself.
Thnx to great community and explanations we are now playing silkroad in lan without any issues going bezerk with all the things first time admin and his gm pals are go mad with and thats items and modifications.
So what this thread is really about ?
I would like to get in touch with players that are constrained by servers built by current admins that have no endgame, no ability to reproduce epic sets without donating and most of all are bothered with HAVING to spend time on a server to be any good on it.
Idea behind complete development of server is to cater the need of all silkroad players pvp lovers and farmers/job workers alike and that is gratification for time spent doing something.
Im not talking about giving everything on a plater to the player, that would be obsolete and we had some experience with HIGH exp gain and instant pvp servers and they all narrow the endgame to the point of failing at their job.
So what am i offering with new server (unlike all new Admins)
Changelog would go:
No xp gain for mob killing or farming.
No gold drop on mob kill except uniques and party gigants
No +245 items on battlefield
No GM's with weapons on pvp (GMS CANNOT BE ATTACKED)
No party PVP on 1v1 PVP grounds
Separate PVP zones for degrees
No alchemy (+ is done by NPC or GM for GOLD AND HONOR)
Mobs gain honor on kill
Honor is main currency ingame (being HERO AND ALL)
Leveling is BOUGHT trough NPC AS WELL AS DELEVEL
Silk and GOLD can be gained on unique events, temple runs and QUESTS
TOTAL REWORK OF QUEST SYSTEM AND REWARDS to match actual player development and level of dificulty.
Melding weapons (Use your high degree weapon to dismantle and use attributes on different degree weapon, done by gm later by NPC gaining attribute of destroyed weapon and making lower degree same damage)
GMS GET PAYED OF DONATIONS
Mods do chores and get some perks on their NORMAL CHARS
MODS CAN FIGHT!
Honor system for PVP
Ladder system for PVP
Many more changes to come.
Im looking for beta testers (GM/MOD) soon as we make it online.
Server is run on Xeon I7 @ 3200ghz 4 core / 8 threads and will be running on 2008 R2 (currently beta on Windows 7) 16 gb ram, upload speed 10mb/s HW firewall. (WILL BE DEDICATED)
Im looking for developers that would like to give a GLOW to silkroad.

Not buying, i should maybe clarify, getting leveled for gained honor to desired or designed level. Allowing a player to skip a region he is not satisfied with and promote another region with more alluring loot from quests and events for that degree.
I must point out that is something we will determine upon testing time spent needed to level via usual means (XP boost in %) and cut that to viable margin that would allow player to keep playing the region he desires without forcibly pushing him out of the region simply leveling him just by killing same mobs.
We all had experience with RPGs cutting farming time with solutions such as diminishing experience gained for repetitive monster type kills.
This would be a merge of those systems allowing more content for the region and sufficient gratification for endgame content.
And ill point out that most of private servers ultimately force player to play their version of Silkroad that just takes different means of forcing you to tasks in order to receive content instead of offering you options how to consume all the content you have gotten trough questing and exploring.
I dont even need to point at the items we all just glaze trough in midgame and endgame simply cause it has no worth, and it has no worth simply cause its worth was taken in order to be applied to a new object of desire further down the endgame path making every content ingame fake and obsolete.
I enjoy exploring silkroad, i enjoy doing quests but feel empty after not getting gratification, i love PVP there is no gratification for pvp, its a mere luxury in current servers, we dont have VALID trading, we have forced trading not valid trading inspired by gain of some value (either it is d evaluated via gold inflation like overlimit or absolutely no gratification on pvp servers and "special" servers), guild wars have no gratification , forced fw, how many forgotten worlds edits have you seen and how much great content does it have, party wars have no gratification, unique kills are forced as much as possible, events happen on jangan/dw/sama pvp and H&S is main weapon of every server, changed balances to force a class, disabled class i can point out so many things i dont like on sro servers but i do like the game. And i would like to modify it in that manner that old school players would see it as a good and balanced way of doing things as well as approaching people who just cant find themselves on servers that are currently online.

No pserver actually tried that and if you mean Venture, we had uniques/grind spots but to make every level enjoyable is a whole different thing, much more depth than that.
