To be honest I don't really care, because I do not own a server anymore, but I find this interesting.
I've noticed that a lot of servers are getting DDOSed, even the newest servers with less than 50 online players. Everyone is blaming PlaySRO, but I'm almost 100% sure that they never DDOSed any servers. Why would they do that, when they have 2 servers, with like 3000 online players? It doesn't make sense.
I was reading this thread yesterday:
and after I read Haze's post (see below), I realized whats going on.

I can assure you that it is not the PlaySRO who is being the attacker, but someone much more powerful, and that's not a SRO private server owner. PlaySRO itself is not in any kind of need to destroy such a small server, there are few bigger ones and still, PlaySRO is still far ahead.

There was a big DDOS wave in May. Since then, most of the high populated servers including PlaySRO, Duckroad etc. got protected by HyperFilter, an anti-DDOS company.

after a Big DoS / DDoS Wave Started.

So my theory is that HyperFilter attacks the servers, so the owners are either forced to close their servers or buy DDOS protection. And HyperFilter is actually one of the cheapest protections available.

Of course it's just my theory. What do you think?

do u think that joymax is afraid of some buch of pservers ?)
now about the ddosing:whoever attacks other pservers has a reason and that reason is unknown to us but i can say this that some pserver dont deserve to be ddosed...

why would joymax ddos anyone?
they still have like 100k players(yeah,bots,too,but they pay some money aswell,so who cares.),why would they give a **** about these private servers where there are only around 200 players?..

+1 , they was care about ecsro but now there is only 2 top private servers or 3
and others servers are 10 ~ 20 capacity
so they dont care about private servers now !!

Could be. I would never trust a company which located in ovh datacenter already. And they're not the cheapest protection out there.

It is the cheapest if you calculate it quality,service per price.

You can find smaller companies with smaller prices but not same ****.

You can find 3x cheaper with same even better quality, but it won't be in europe for sure.

Yeah thats a problem as well..it can create lag. I heard someone is really ****** on hyper and a big wave of attacks will start on them..i'm not sure what we are going to do..

ot : well anything is possible im not saying they are the only ones ddosing but im also 100% sure there are some "others' taking advantage of the hypefilter situations and they start ddos on their own.

I don't think a company like joymax do this they don't care about private servers they own has about 15,000 online players why company like joymax attacking private servers get a 200 people online max.

Honestly on the one hand side it makes sense since they may be aiming on higher profits but on the other one, wouldn't it be more efficient to let servers grow at first until they can afford an appropriate protection which they'll prolly buy at Hyper then?
Cause it's simply a waste of time to start attacks against small servers with a pretty small income - just sayin ^^
