I have vista windows that mean that i cant play?

Right click on ECSRO>properties>compatibility

Try running it on different systems like windows 98, vista, xp

Xp it should work for vista users.
This is just to fix the problem for people who do have direct x

If none of these work, it probably means you do not have direct X so you need to install it to latest version.
So download from here
