Hello,dear elitepvpers,
Since many users are completely or partially new to this game,they start spamming the forums searching for their answers.
I found this guide,made by some dude on silkroadonline official site.
I feel that I should post it here,as I find it very useful,even thought I play this game for 3 years now.

WTS= want to sell
WTB= want to buy
WTT= want to trade
ff= full farmd
fb= full blue
sp= Skillpoints
PM= Private Message(Whisper)
scammer= a bad person who stole items or gold from players
mob= Monster
NPC Gear=Gear you can buy ad NPC shops



2:the chars in SRO:

in the beginning you can make a chinese char or a european char

Chinese char:

Chinese chars are made for solo playing, you can lvling self without help

you have 2 stats: STR and INT

and 5 weapons: Glavie(STR)
Blade(STR)
Spear(INT)
Sword(INT)
BOW(STR)

i writed the main Stats for every weapon on the right side but you can skill all as hybrid too,cuz all chinese make phy. damage and mag.damage cuz of the imbue.
but take care with that you can make many wrong as a new player. the main stat as hybrid should be still the same as i writed it.
if you wanna try hybrid do a lot pvp to test your build.



european chars: Dagger/crossbow(STR)
Wizard(INT)
Cleric(INT)
Warlock(INT)
Warrior(STR)
Bard(INT)

Europens dont have the imbue like chines chars, meens they only do 1 type of damage!

but they have higher attackpower on skillz and weapons
but a higher potion delay ( they have to wait longer for using the next HP-MP Pot-15 seconds)

and europens can use 2 skilltrees eg: wizard+cleric

but if you make a european char with a STR and a INT class put your stats on STR cuz a STR class does no damage with INT
but a INT class will be still a good support for your STR class.

INT classes you can use for support your STR class: Warlock Cleric Bard

INT classes you CANT support your STR class: WIZARD

and euro chars are farming hard alone,
cuz euros need the Masterylvl to wearing the Gear



3:Alchemy:

you can use alchemy to upgrade your weapons, Gear and accesorries

hmm... first i will explain what is all on your weapon gear etc.


many items dropped have blue on it

there are:

[COLOR=""]Lucky[/COLOR]: gives you a better chance to not fail in making your weapone or armor +! (more about + later)

Astral: if you have a weapone +4 and failing in making it +5! with astral it will not go back to +0 like normal
it will stay ad +4! Astral you can only make on items when you have immortal on it and buyd the astral stone in item mail

Steady:if you have a higher + on your items (like +4) you have a chance that the durability (how often you can use your item befor you have repair it)
goes done when you fail! Steady protect your item from this! maybe you will see some item with red letters that the dura is done b xx%

Immortal: if you have a higher + on you items (+4 and higher) you have a chance that your item will destroyd (disappear) when you fail
immortal protect your item from this! also you can only make astral on your item when Immortal is on it

the blues from this things is! Lucky(2time/times)! that mean you have 2x lucky on the item

NEXT:

elixirs:

there are 4 typs of elixirs in this game:

elixir(weapone): for weapons(glavie,sword,blade....)
elixir(protector): for armor(garment,armor,protector)
elixir(accesorry): for accessories(ring,nechlace,earring)
elixir(shield): for shield

you need the elixirs to make your stuff +! maybe you saw some guys holding weapons with white, red, yellow or blue shining! this items have a +

you need the elixir and a lucky powder ( can be bought from npc in every town, Grocery Seller)
the lucky powder lvl must b the same lvl as the deegree from your item
eg: you have a deegree 3 sword then you need a lvl 3 lucky powder

if you got a elixier your item and the powder then you can start making your item +
use alchemy (press A and then the alchemy button) put your item in the left slot then put your elixier in one of the outhers and then the lucky powder. click on fuse and wait
with luck you will success

the chance to +1 is 90% +2 is 50%.........(not relevant)

if you weapon have a higher + your weapon starts to shine a bit

+3+4= white
+5+6=red
+7+8=yellow
+9+10=blue

every + = 1 lvl

the + on stuff only have effect on the phsy attack mag attack from weapons and phsy and mag defence from the armor!

NEXT:
the % on the stuffs:

it says how much better is that stuff as a npc in this point! it goes from 0%(like npc) to 100%
critical from a glavie is 2 ad 0% with 100% you have crit 14! on you staff the crit is 2 ad 100% cuz you cant use phsy attacks

NEXT!

special from seal of star:

this a rare special items only can dropd from mops or buyd from players

3 typs exist:

seal of star= +5+6
seal of moon= +10
seal of sun= +15

this items have atomaticly this +! and this auto + have effect on every stat! so a seal of sun glavie have a crit from 20(100%) normal glavie have crit14(100%)


NEXT:

the tablets you can find:

you can find this tabs from mops! you use it for making blues on your weapone or making the % from the stats higher
for what every tablet is stand on the tablet! but i write it here now

Focus: Attack rating(Weapon)
Life: Phsy reinforce
meditation: Mag reinforce
mind: mag defence(Gear)
philosophy: Mag attack(Weapone)
Prayer: Mag absorbtion(Accessory)
Spirit: Mag reinforce
Taining: Phsy absorbtion(accessory)
warriors: Phsy reinforce




also on every tablet stand a number of elements! this elements you need to make the tablet to a stone
only as a stone you can use it with a item to make it better
the elements you get from mops it the brown packs with silly names! like tigers tail etc
this packs you can make to elements! what elements you get stand on the packs
you need a Void rondo( can be bought from npc) and the packs! use alchemy window the 2nd side
and fuse it! then you will get elements! after you have the elements you need for the tab you can make it to a stone
and then you can use it with your item.
but you can fail too. =)

on the stone is a % like 0% 5% 10% 20% 30%! it tells you what chance you have that one outher stat(not the stat you want change) will changed when you fail
(NOT A GOOD THING) 0% only have stones like Lucky or stones from item mall.

for all who wanna know how to get a Lucky Stone: destroy a item with the destroy rondoe! but you have only a little chance to get one.
you can buy it in item mail too

NEXT:

4:change your mastery:

with lvl20 ( in think) you can make a quest named Cursed heart
with every 10 hearts you get 1 portion from the npc! with that you can lower 1 lvl
its a hard way=)

outher way is do buy portions in item mail.

NEXT:

5:what does the things on weapons gear etc bring:

(1)weapons:

phsy(attackpower): the phsy damage from this weapone
mag(attackpower): the mag damage from this weapone
crit: critical with higher number(donno its % or not) you have a better change to do a crit(2xphsy damage)
Attack rating: gives you a better change to do your max damage on your enemy
Block(Blue): lowers the chance that your enemy can block your attacks with the shield
phsy/mag reinforce:increase your damage (donno how much)

(2)shield:

phsy and mag defence: the defence from your shield
Block: chance to block the attacks from your enemy
Critical(Blue): lowers the chance that you enemy will make a crit on you

(3)Gears(Garment,Armor...)

Parry Ratio: give you a better chance that your Enemy will do his lowest damage on you! (against attack rating)
Phsy mag reinforce: donno exactly but i think it increase what a pot will heal! or increase the defence

(4)Accessory:

phsy and mag absorbtion: increase your defence alot! the nummbers are %--- 10: Phsy absorbtion---lowers the Phsy. damage b 10%

there are some bad things on weapons and gear too

Repair invalid (max durability 400% increase): this item cant repaired if the dura is at 0 this item is then useless! Uniques drop items like this
Durability decrease by XXX%: some guy tried to +5 that item without Steady on it and the durability is down by this %

NEXT:

6:Dont Trust to many ppl in this Game:

there are many ways to steal your items! some things that will protect you from this

1: never open a stall outside from the town, when a outher player telling you to do it!
2: never trust one who telling you he know a place where you can drop your sos and it will b changed to som
also dont drop you item if someone tells you he will the how sos looks on the ground
dont laugh its a real bad trick
3: dont do exchange to someone you dont trust he can change the item or money in the last second
4: dont accept exchange--its a way to hack accounts! (make it off ad ESC-Options) also the party invite
5: dont let someone send you something with ICQ or outher chat if you dont trust him-also a way to hack you
6: be aware if someone ask to much about you! dont tell im things from you that you used as ID or PW
7: never tell someone your E-Mail with that you have created your account! (hackers needs only your e_mail and your ID)
8: dont use your Play-account as Forum-account

NEXT:

7:MURDER STATUS:

you get it when you kill someone without cape! you need to press alt to do this
you press ALT and click on a outher player you can attack him without cape
if you attack him your name will changed from white to pink! on this status all ppl (the one you attacking too)
can kill you without getting murder
if you continue attacking him and killing him! the colour from your name will change from pink to red
now you are murder and all ppl will try killing you for exp. and your items
cuz as murder you have a better chance to drop your items + a chance to drop the items you are wearing

WHAT TO DO AS MURDER?

put all items in your storage if you dont wanna lose it-also your money! and use all your SP-Points
as murder you lose HP in towns! if you die in town you can lose your items but not the status

you can lose the status when:

you let ppl killing you or when you killing mops. but killing mops is a hart way! i did it ones =)

NEXT:

8:STATUS YOU CAN GET AD FIGHTS:

Stun: you cant move and attack when you are in stun status

Dull: your movment and attackspeed is lower in dull status

Burn: it will Burn down your HP

Lightning: your parry ration is lower in Lightning status

Cold: you are frozen so your movment and attackspeed is lower also you can complitly freezing

Poisen: it will Burn down your HP like Burn status

Zombie: DANGEROUS (every HP pot you use will decrease your HP as much as he normaly Heal it)

Darkness: HP pots dont work

Impotent: decrease your attackpower

Division: decrease your defence

Bleed: decrease your defence and you get damage too from bleeding

Fear: you are scard and cant attack

Bind: you cant move



dont know much about the eurostatus:( (maybe someone will add more)

NEXT:

9:the jobs:

Merchant(trader):
have to bring goods from one town to a outher town(longer way = more win) under lvl 40 traders can make a save 1*
meens a player thief cant attack you directly! but he can let his lightning thiefs attack you so go away from this, when you have a save 1*,too
ah and when you are a totaly beginner as trader like me as i started dont worry if some black guys coming and attack you! this NPC thiefs just spawn for you =)

Thief:
have to robe the Goods from the Traders and bring them to thief town!
only class who can good fake with the lvl cuz of the Suite
to get thief you have to go to thief town! the teleporter is only in the first chinese and euro town! in
Jangan he is in the Barrom street
the NPC calls
Gisaeng Yumi (X:6209 Y:996)
in europa the npc named Soldier Kartino(X:-10495 Y:2472)
he is ad the docks!

Hunter:
have to protect the goods from the traders

also when you are thief and kill to much hunters or traders you are on penalty! meens for hunters you have a symbole left from your name
if they kill you they get much hunter xp! and when you are on penalty it brings nothing to take your thief suite off
when the Hunter kills you without your suite then you just lose exp but not the penalty!!!!

as low lvl stay away from traders and thiefs with trader oxe horse etc sure they cant attack you direclty but a npc thief/hunter from them with light can still hurt you.

NEXT:

10:the party system:

2 typs of partys exist the 4er and the 8er

4er: with every new member the exp and sp you get from mops will increasd! its nvm if the members are fare away from you

8er: its a exp share party only works when the members are near you! also you can ad item share ad the 8er too! that meens now the exp/sp and the item will b shared with all members
also when you are in a 8er party then partymops will spawn and all mops getting aggro

to join a party press (P) on your Keyboard and then search a party or create one! on set you can change from 4er to 8er item share or not--when you wanna open one self

V: all players get invisible for you ( for less lagsand if you cant click a npc cuz of too many ppl)

NEXT:

12:Joining and Leaving a guild:

you can only join a guild if the Master or one from the guild with the rights for joining will invite you

you can leave a guild when the Master or one from the guild with the rights will bann you out of the guild
or you go to the guildstorage and use the option (Leave Guild)

when you leaving a guild you have to wait 3 days to join a new guild
but when you get bannd from the guild when you are not online you dont have to wait to join a new guild

NEXT:

13:MOVMENT:

for Moving in SRO just use you mouse, click on the ground (left button) where you wanna go
with the right button you can look around

for using your skills put your skills in the skillslot line
with numbers from 1-0

when the skill is in just press the button with the number where your skill is, to use it

you have more skill slot lines then 1 you can change it with the F1-F4_Buttons

when you later get a teleporter skill put it in the slot left from the slot with the number (1) (its the Mouse wheel)
then just left click on the ground you wanna go and then click the mouse wheel for teleport
dont try to click with your mouse on the teleportskill in the line you will b teleportet back

NEXT:

14:How to calculate build:

First you have to take of all stuffs that you dont have one STR or INT bonus on your char (dont forget the premium ticket)

i will explain it with a lvl 81 char

you start as lvl 1 with STR20 INT20 you get every lvlup 1STR 1INT + 3 points you can put on STR or INT
but dont forget you are already lvl1 so from lvl1 to lvl81 you get 80STR 80INT and 240 points, you can put on STR or INT

so when you are a pure char you shoud have (with no bonus) 340STR 100INT (Pure STR,lvl81)

to calculate a build we only use the points you can set self (240)

look how more points as 100 got your char on the outher stat (not your main stat)
for explain lets say he have 110INT=10 more INT as normal

now calculate 240:10=24 that says this char is a 23:1 hybrid (from 24: 23 parts on STR and 1 part on int)

outherwise you can calculate how much stats you have to ad when you know the build.
for this build 240:24=10 (10points on int)

15:Few typs for Alchemy:

if you try to upgrade a item be sure that the durability is full
stay alone
try it after you logged in when you have premium
if it dont work after 5 tries wait the next day
when you are realy unlucky and you have a friend in game you know in real let him try. i never get a weapon to +4 without help
but i never faild trying to +5 the weapon etc from a friend^^
and my success rate for STR and INT tabs was always good too.

16:PVP

PVP-(Player vs Player)

on every southgate from the towns doing ppl pvp
you need a cape to do it ( can b buyd ad grocery seller)

with cape you can attack the outher ppl with capes without getting murder or losing exp when you die.

the capes have colours you can only attack ppl who dont wear your colour.
with a white cape you cant attack ppl with white capes.

only the brown cape let you attack all. (calld Prodigy Cape)

when someone kills you in pvp you dont need a resser you can stand up alone with pressing the left button on the message.

17:Whats a Gap?

a Gap is when the lvl from your char is higher as the max masterylvl from your char.

lvl 60 Glavie with masterys: lvl50 fire lvl 57 Heuskal lvl55 light have a 3er Gap

when you have a gap with your char you get lesser exp and a bit more sp so you can farm your char
every Gap decrease your exp points b 10%.
the max Gap is 9.

18:What is a Bot?

a Bot is a very poor person who cant lvling self and need a programm for this.

3 typs exist:

the simple goldbot:

very easy to find you can see him always in groups. he is always shy so dont try to talk with him.
he dont will answer.
maybe you will get a HI from him but when you ask more you quickly notice that he knows only that 1 word and
a deeper discussion is pointless -.-

they only use a few skillz to none

mostly have names like: djfhjdhf

the Playerbot(AFK):

also very easy to find, has the same vocabolar as the goldbot.
the only difference: use more skillz and he have a better name.

deeper discussion is also pointless

the Playerbot:

is a funny guy who tells that legits are no life idiots but he always watching his bot lvling...somehow pointless
he love it to KS outher ppl but he hate it when you KS him.
ah and he smiling like a children ad X-Mas when he can kill a ppl in pvp when this ppl is min 10lvl lower.
when his lvl is fighting him he lose the fun and get angry.
they dont love the freezing status.

Detect the bots:

when the bot have autograp on its easy just ks a giant.
when the char trys to grap the stuff on the ground (run from 1 piece to the next piece)
then you can b sure.
some bots are so funny and try to run away when someone ks them but they cant stop attacking the mop.
all bots have a area for lvling and a way the always walk to the lvl place.
a bot will not leave the lvling area also not when a Giant is near him but out of his area.
a bot always attack 1 mop (killing it) then the next one.
and all bots love it to run in walls, trees etc.

19:How to kill bots:

when you are higher lvl you can use your job (trader) get a trader horse and 1 loot.
go out from a town and wait for a light npc thief. then kill the trader horse if you dont
wann more thiefs.
and then just wait

next way is to get a 8er party and let partymops spawn near the bot.
only works when the bot isnt much higher as the mops.

as euro (Bard) you have a skill it will put the aggro status from the mops away (they dont attack you and search a new enemy)
when you stand near a bot the mop (Party) attacks the bot.


BTW when you are new and nobody answer you dont think all ppl are arrogant in this game.
there are only to many bots in this game.

Ah and i dont wanna say all bots are bad i know some nice bots too, helping lows with the high lvl chars (i dont meen plvling -.-)
but they stop playing sro like the legits

Personal opinion
i hope this helps you! and dont use alchemy to much as low lvl its useless! i got my first +5 weapone with lvl 52.
and there was the max lvl at lvl 60.
buy only a good weapon as low when you wanna SP-Farming.

They kill your Plvl & low chars if you try to plvl them, in most cases they are not turks.
They behave like turks but they are not turks
Because turks dont do that, Turks just stick to DW South and kill low lvl in PvP or they farm up their millions of Chars allthough its pretty useless, because Turks just suck at PvP. No matter what Build they use.
But lets get back to ******* players:
They hate Plvl because they know that plvl ruined the game, after Clientless & Goldbots.
And thats their Revenge.
They love to see you or your chars which you trying to plvl dead on the ground eating dirt.
And they mostly laugh like Popeye, like this: Ekekekekeke
PvP isnt funny anymore for them, coz they allways win, even without SoX & thats why they have fun on the costs of other players.
And the more angry you get while they kill your plvl the more fun its for them.
