joymax did nothing wrong with the sro-r

>players complain about the goldbots so bring out the fatique system, the system that you can't gain any exp or item drop after 8 hours
>players complain about the quest system so bring out the outpost system instead of taking quests from the town they can take quests from the grinding zones also increase the quest rewards handsomely
>players complain about how hard to grind so you bring out the beginner's assistance npcs where they can get free sox items and potions until the lvl 70
>for some reason they still hate you
>for some reason they didn't play the new game either
joymax (or wemademax) did it's best to revive the game. mmorpg genre fell from the graces because it's not based on skill but on paying money and grind. also the original players from the 2006 all grew up and lose their apetite to the game. there was nothing wrong with the silkroad r. just admit it.

>muh bots
you can't play silkroad without the bots. be rational.

Major problem is fcked mastery, as full str you cant have force mastery. Maybe if they add imbue skill and some buffs, it will be ok, but sro-R mastery system really suxx for CH chars.

You wanna have weapon mastery, then cant have force. I wanna see person who told, yes this is good change.

These points are kinda funny, your beliefs are not the reality of the situation. Allow me to elaborate.

- Fatigue system is actually bugged and can be continually abused through a simple relog.
- Who complained about the quest system? The issue regarding quests is that the quests from level 121~130 are not nearly enough to reach the cap, and there is no existing quest from 131~140.
- Again, who complained about beginner assistance program?
- Bots/non-bots is a simple user preference. We're not in 2007 where people were annoyed by bots and handgrinding everyday. Times have changed and people don't mind bots and VAST majority of the community uses them in both official & private servers. Lately people have begun to adapt to the idea of non-bot servers for a simple change of scenery since the entire private server scene & ISROR has begun to blend together with no new fun or content.

The reason people hate official SRO is because:

- New Job System. It's cool, should have been implemented as an addition to the original job system rather than replacing it. Activity, hell, this entire game is centered around jobbing. The new quest/consignment based job system made activity drop sharply, limited massive PVP combat, and encouraged a solo-based botting and crafting system. It eliminated a massive method for free-to-play players to be able to actually progress and added useless rewards for alternative non-essential items which only the top level highest competing players are interested in obtaining.

- No support. Joymax/WeMade/JCP does not communicate with their players besides with the same generic messages for their monthly maintenance announcements. Even the server merge & new server opening schedules have become predictable with a pattern.

- No new content/activities. There has not been a single major content update pushed to Silkroad from 2018~2023. In 2023, D16/D17/D21 was released (copypasted models, just recolored) with 2 new dungeons (which are recolored copypastes of old Jupiter rooms), 1 new open grinding area (recolored copypaste of Sky Temples (Shambhala), and a few new items to encourage donations. Since then, radio silence again. No core issues fixed, no widely accepted suggestions have been implemented. That's 5 years with nothing new.

- No GM presence/events. Joymax used to host a ton of Facebook and in-game events to advertise their game. Every month there used to be 2~3 active events and GM presence around all the servers. There has not been a GM spotted in ISROR servers for around 9 years now.

- Small population/dead servers. The real genuine playercount in any given ISROR server, excluding the new one, is honestly 10~15 players at a time except on Fortress War days. 95% of the players logged in to any server are bots - each main player gathers 1~2~3 full parties of goldbots to 24/7 farm. I've tried to find real players many times randomly over the years, searched in globals for hours. Sometimes there are hours with no global chats or weeks with 10-15 globals sent maximum.

- Bugs which are not fixed/never will be. The number of engine bugs allowing skill abuse and animation cancelling is remarkable. Such stuff has been reported for years with no fixes. There used to be a gamebreaking bug with a combination of 2 warrior skills (I won't go into details as ISROR files are public and this may be abused in Private Servers) which caused a massive clientless wave for EVERY player around you. This was abused in Fortress Wars for 3 YEARS before a patch was rolled out. Not to mention, there are still more bugs like this existing which are not public, still being abused and refused to be investigated by Joymax.

- Impossible to meaningless progress as a non-donator or even low-medium value donator. Highest tier items, even clean ones, run for hundreds of dollars. There are only three ways to obtain D12~D15 items in official ISROR.
1.) Chamber of Vicious Shadows - drops D15 items at an incredibly low rate. Requires silk to enter, a strong party/well geared characters are needed to complete it fully, and the rate of item drops is extremely low. You will likely go YEARS without seeing a single rare item.
2.) Upgrading through the degrees. D12 can upgrade to D13 to D14 to D15 etc. Item must be +7 to upgrade to the next degree - cannot be done without proof stones (for silk). Awaken stones are required to upgrade (costs silk, cannot be dropped anywhere ingame).
3.) Genie's Lamp Daily Quest. Players can kill monsters within their 10 level range and drop a Genie's Lamp once a day. Usually gives trash stones/elixirs, sometimes will give a rare item. Could take weeks/months to get any item of value, and cannot be completed past level 130.
Two out of three of these methods require resources which are impossible to gain through any gameplay method, only buying from players or buying silk from Joymax themselves. The only remotely "fair" and "play2win" system among these is the Genie's Lamp quest.

- Crazy power imbalances caused by the Wheel System. Wheels allowed the best players to accumulate over 400-500 additional stat points for their characters, which increases both defense and attack by a truly unfathomable amount. Well-wheeled characters become unkillable, while simultaneously being capable of killing whole parties with 1 skill. Of course, the only way to obtain wheels & pens are for SILK.

In the end, these are the main reasons why Joymax and its servers are disliked by many. People don't "hate ISRO," in fact the opposite. The SRO-R system has been rapidly gaining popularity among the private server scene in the last 2-3 years, with Sailor Online becoming one of the most popular and largest servers in the community. (This isn't an ad, just explaining what's happening in relation to SROR servers). It's more about Joymax's management post-2016 more than the game system itself. It's undeniable that something massive happened in 2016 with the production, development, and content teams which sent the game into a halt. Seems a massive chunk of the team was fired or quit past this point, resulting in the servers being neglected and the content roadmap being abandoned. You can see all events, advertisements, major updates, and normal GM announcements stopping at this point.

Hope this helps =) Cheers.

I agree with what you said.
There is nothing more ridiculous than the VIP system and the wheel system. They literally say, if you don't have the money, don't play. If this kind of nonsense didn't happen, many of the old players would return. Including me.
