sro on ubuntu 10.10 (linux)

Hey
Today i installed ubuntu on my pc.. I got rid of windows 7..

Installed wifi
installed winrar
installed sro and bots
installed wine

if i open sro it boots but the sro starter window just stays there and nothing happens..
Even if i open sbot with wine and try to boot nothing happens..

I looked arround on google.. A lot of prople saying you can get it to work and allot say its inpossible.. These post where acually i little out of date so thats why am asking it here again..

Is thre anyone that has experiance with the newest ubuntu and sbot?

I would be very gratefull if someone could help me.. Am srry if i missed a forum about this somewhere but i looked on the site of wine and coudnt find anything usefull..

I guess Ubuntu doesn't support sBot. Have tried it on Unix instead?

ok the problem is now..

i can run sro but when gameguard starts it will crash after 2 seconds and sro wont boot.

hy, i know this topic is older but here 2 ways to play sro on linux!
first, i using always 32bit version from ubuntu, not 64 bit!
install new ubuntu,
install playonlinux,
using wine with, windows mode, xp mode and resolution 1024x768!
than u can start sro and after hackshield aplication stop!
u must using an loader for sro, edxloader, or u delete the hackshield folder in sro or rename!
sro start than, but after u login in the world, u have always every 10 minutes dc!
is good solution for privat server without hackshield.

second way and the best way i think is!
install virtual box,
than install virtual xp 32 bit,
using 2d and 3d mode in virtual box,

after install xp, start xp in save mode (press F8)
than install guest aplication from virtual box,
restart xp
install directx 9c, install netframework 3.5,

thats all, now u can start silkroad in virtual box,
all bots running, hackshield works!

i make here an video u can look it works fine!
