at a noob lvl, archers and hunters get a buff called long range, my long range is lvl 1 so it increases range by 3, so i use it, scan for 3 (4 bytes, no hex, exact value) then i wait for it to wear off and scan for 0, then repeat when neccessary. 15-20 usually works best, it takes a few 'invalid distant' shots before it starts hitting.

idea: u might be able to find your original range by using the scan 'increased by..' and 'decreased by..'

Many found the hack before he wrote this, he just clarified it.

Note that the invalid range message, or object in way message may also be able to be bypassed, didn't get it working myself though.

I don't think it's possible to bypass the "invalid range" message. If you try to use a skill and the monster is too far away there's a short delay till the message appears, so it's most likely the server sending that the monster is too far away.

Try this: Find a monster's X and Y coordinates in Cheat Engine. Walk away and change the monster coordinates so for the client it looks like the monster is directly next to the character. But the "invalid range" message still appears.

It's possible to increase the range only a bit though and the server won't notice.

not hard to do, The range hack gives you about a 20 meter range increase with a normal shot. Though you do have to wait about 4 seconds before it kicks in. With skills on the other hand, You can be like 80 meters away from the target and still hit them.

If you know how to search for values, its extremely simple to do.
