I usually look past most posts regarding to members of the Shaiya scene announcing their departure. However, I now post the same with a very real understanding of why some feel it necessary to post on such matters.
For those I have ragged on in the past for posting such things, please accept my apologies.
I have been a part of the Shaiya community for a very long time now. Both within OS, and with the private server community. I have been a player, I have been a developer, and I have been a host.
What once started as a past time spent on a game accidentally stumbled upon ended up as much more. I met many people along the way. Great people. Wonderful friends. Devoted colleagues.
My private server hosting started with Shaiya Purity, and ironically it will end with it as well. I have also been the proud host of Shaiya Absolution---the most popular of my servers.
After encountering hosting issues with the re-launch of Purity, I had initially begun to start a search for a new host that would allow for Purity to come back online as quickly as possible.
I had also begun re-development of Absolution, as well as the development of yet another server to act as sister to Purity and Absolution.
However, in the midst of this, I have recently suffered two very personal losses in my real life that have brought me to a re-evaluation of my life and it's current state.
In the end, I have seen that life is much too short to be spent on some things while others go ignored or unexperienced. As such, I am officially and permanently walking away from Shaiya in all forms.
All databases, applications, scripting, and notes for my past servers, as well as my plans for future servers have been passed on to a very close and very trusted friend and colleague of mine for further use, and server re-launches.
The time spent with the EPVP community and that of Shaiya as a whole has been a grand time, and an experience that will never be forgotten. I thank everyone for that, and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Life is too short, and the "bucket list" is too long. Be sure to enjoy every moment. You never know when it all ends, and nobody is too young to see that end.
Utmost Regards,
Frank A Keck III,
