How would a "perfect" Shaiya Server look like?
So after not playing Shaiya for a while I checked several "top100" websites on what kind of pservers are currently around.
I joined a couple and had the feeling that most servers nowadays just focus fully on pvp and theres little to no grinding needed at all. They basically throw gear at you just for participating in PvP. Where "participating" means more like running at each other 24/7 while ressing on the raidlead after 5 seconds when you die. Theres almost no tactics involved and bosses are becoming less and less meaningful, especially with all the MM events I see on so many servers.
So I was asking myself, is that really what people are looking for in shaiya these days, or are there just no "good" servers around anymore?
The last server which really hooked me and kept me playing for several months was Shaiya4Ever back in 2016. Grinding was meaningful and nothing was easily handed at you, bosses had a lot of value and your gear progression was quite slow compared to the other servers around.
Do you guys feel the same as me, or do you guys like to play on these exact servers? How would your ideal shaiya server look like? Would you rather have it fast pasted, easily gearing and instant pvp, or keeping it more slow? Which episode would it be? What are you guys looking for in Shaiya?

That's it. That's what modern lazyness-driven players love, and what ruined the game.

I would love to see some slower servers again, where youre not maxed out in no matter of time. 4Ever did quite a good job back then, even though the item mall prices were a little over the top for my taste. But with the shaiya community becoming smaller and smaller i dont see slow servers working out anymore.

Seen plenty of servers try to be more "meaningful" in that sense where they created a more difficult grind and such, but each have met the same demise. Yes, there are people who still enjoy working for their gear and putting time into it, but that group is just too small. The community as a whole is already small enough, and you can keep your small server going for some time, but eventually the owners and players just come to a point where you think, "why bother".
I won't really blame the pserver owners for the dwindling community, but more so the original creators of the game for providing new content that a lot of people did not enjoy, giving up on their "classic" server aka Phoenix, and just overall never putting in the proper effort to keep their community and instead pushing them away with greed.
Also keep in mind, this is an old game with content that hasn't changed too much since it's release. People do get bored of it all eventually since they have experienced this same content over and over again as there hasn't been a stable server in ages. You can't really rely on people opening up servers out of the good of their heart anymore, since let's be realistic, it isn't fair to them either. Even if you're rich as hell, I see opening up a server these days as mostly a waste of time and dedication.
Unless you plan on doing a total over haul of content, then good luck releasing the same thing but just slightly different. There are probably 10+ other servers out there doing the same.

Agree with pretty much everything you said.
What is this Shaiya Phoenix server you've meantioned? Some classic server version like WoW has currently? - Didnt know something like that was a thing, would've definitely played that instead of all the ep5/6+ bullshit they've released.

I think it was max ep5 or something. They just didn't add new content to it, but it only lasted like 2 years.
Last mention of it is on here:

I'm going to disagree with something you mentioned, say that the community is going down wat a joke, right, because you don't know where, it is interesting that players keep switching from server to server, of course it doesn't last and most owners just think about money but adays there are a lot of toxic players mainly using hackers bypassing server failures

Sorry but no idea what you mean. The post I linked is an official post from Aeria Games, which was made in 2015 once Phoenix was closed.

Unfortunately That is exactly what the player base has devolved to.
Give me a level i didn't earn.
Give me gear i didn't earn.
Give me a pvp rank i didn't earn.
watch me brag about all the stuff i got. now i am bored and need to move to another server.

Shaiya? I still believe in it because it was one of the best games that existed, but unfortunately aeria games did not do that good ... in 2008 when I was on it,
I took 2 years to have a relatively acceptable set, but unfortunately access to pvp was not easy, since the big donors were happy to shoot you immediately ... your success in this game was directly linked to what you could pay per month ...
So all the players turned to private servers where access to pvp was immediate!
But now, there is always stronger than you ...
A game (aeria) where you had to show intelligence to progress and especially that the players had to play as a team,
we went to servers that received a clientele of idiotic people who come only to play individually, and when things go wrong,
we will look elsewhere ...
As a result, many servers were populated immediately, but depopulated just as quickly.
Today the game only attracts morons, because it's all "free", but the players no longer know how to play in teams, and
cannot have individual success ... all skills, buffs are in game for team play ...
So it's the problem when you own a server ...
I started with version 4.5 and up to version 5.4, because this version allowed better data management, but the players wanted new
set, wings, pets, the game has been up to 6.4, and players have spent their time dropping to acquire what "the others" do not have, and there is no
had more pvp (which is annoying for a pvp server), when the players wanted to start pvp by playing it personal, they came across
bones and as they were not progressing they would go elsewhere ...
So we may spend money paying the host, it is no longer useless ... the customer has evolved and unfortunately it is no longer
made for team play ...
