Well i have been trying to set up a server in my spare time
and i am using windows XP home edtion sp3
and i follow every tut word by word but doesnt connect to msql which makes the session time out every 5 secs the everything else gos back to the pause

Services depend on a valid SQL connection. If ALL go back to II state, Check the log of the UserLog service, this will tell you what is wrong. If the log tells you that you have a wrong user/password, go in your database objects > linked servers, and make sure your login and password are correct.
