something is wrong if you cannot get from those download links they seem to work fine might be a temp file error clear all temp files and try re-installing

Would be a lot easier if you just download Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services which comes with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express as part of the install.

Ok i followed your guide for XP and it worked great... then my nephew deleted my files and it didnt work again lol..

so i reformated.and now i have windows 7 installed since last week , and i did the same things
got it all set up and installed

but now i got it all connected.. and i get the green arrows and did the /vchkoff, and /nprotectoff, and im gettin a "check notice board" and i cant get past it

(and yes i did all the run as admin and stuff fully )


Edit: ( as for the issues with the sql server 2005, i used the one included in the server files in this tutorial - and it tells u, u need to get the Sql Server 2005 sp3 file after you install it,(SQLServer2005SP3-KB955706-x86-ENU) google it ,just run it and it made it all work perfectly)

The error is caused by the client not being able to find the serving running at the specified address.

First make sure all services are running ">".

Second
If the server and the client are running on the same machine. Use IP 127.0.0.1

If The Server and client are on local network but not on the same machine. Use the local Network Address. Example " 192.168.#.# ".

If the server and the client are not on a local netowrk or on the same computer use the external IP Example "169.254......."

Make sure your firewall and or router are configured to allow connections.

Make sure this is the IP used both in the game.exe and in the server ini files
located @ "SERVER\PSM_Client\Bin\Config\ps_game.ini"

Example for ini File

[GAMEINFO]
GameName=Your Server Name
GamePublicIP=Your Selected IP

yea i did all that ^^

figured that out when i installed it on XP and a day of tinkering lol


also my friend used Hamachi, but i tried that , couldnt get it to work for some reason

Edit: ok ill just explain what i did

downloaded your server files, installed them all , got all the green arrows, changed ip to 127.0.0.1
open the port on my router with what it showed in my sql tcip for 127.0.0.1, changed the version and updated to 108 for aeria shaiya exe, then changed the ip on it to 127.0.0.1, changed the ps_game, game ip to 127.0.0.1, changed the Game= to my games name, and in the pserver config thing too, ran it, still got the check notice board msg(after the /vchkoff and/nprotectoff)

Ok, so I have a problem. I open up Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express and when the connection screen comes up i only get 1 connection, and I can't access SHAIYA-SERVER at all. I don't know what I'm doing wrong >.<

Shaiya-Server is the name of my server you have to connect to whatever your machine is named it should have been in default when you started it up

well i do all the same things but in the end i get error. My ps_game from the "play" icon goes to ause: icon why that?
maybe i need Windows xp Proffesional cause i use windows Home Edition/

EDIT : ok i find, i keep the last ps game def and i don't replace the ep4 ps game def server run all is good BUT i put cost price to 0 in the DB and in the game when i try to buy i get a disconnection

"connection with server has been disconnected ERROR 0"

how it's possible can people help me please ?

very usefull, got me further then before but right now i am stuck.

when i press "start all server service" only 1 or 2 of them start then end after a few seconds, is this that the config files are wrong?

Nice one NocturnalSniper. perfect video guide. i got it all running in a single try, thx to your guide ...the only problem i got is when im in the game, there's no mob, and the loading bar does not match with the interfaces..and the hp/mp/sp bar are smaller than the usual interfaces..also my toon is transparent..do u know why? maby because i used the private server file which is not suitable with the no-gg multi client..right now im updating the the US Shaiya, just waiting for the version to reach not more than 109 and im gonna try agan.. for anyone that use 127.0.0.1 ip, that have "check notice board" problem even though u allrdy did /vchkoff and /nprotectoff, maby u wanna change all the ip in that reign to 127.0.0.1..i mean, all of it, just use find and type "gameexit", and change all ip above the language to 127.0.0.1..until the .INI point..try it..

Character Transparent is because you are GM type /char off in normal chat to turn off transparency
