Hello,

I'm making a ep4.5 classic server. Working on it for about 2 months now, if you've any suggestions send me a private message. I already made a simple list of features.

Leave Shaiya and play something that's not a thousand years old.

Nah, just kidding... I think.

Don't be the "new" server that dies after a week. Or two weeks. Work hard to make something different, learn from our developers, read their guides, study their work. Features are important, but how you make the server is very important as well. Work on different paths. An Ep4.5. server will not thrive as much as an Ep5. one in this community's current situation. There are two stable Ep4.5. servers and no player will leave the stable ones to try "the new server" if you have nothing huge to impress people with.

Also, focus on your protection. 90% of the servers can't even block the simple Cheat Engine. Focus on your work, make sure to create something beautiful, not just for the sake of putting a server up.

I know this is not exactly features, but it's my opinion. Good luck with your server.

Yes, I won't be that person who open a server to down it 2 weeks after. Totally agree with you, I already added 2 features who in my opinion would make the difference between all those 4.5 servers. Asfor the protection, I already fixed most of the bugs/hacks.

For the ep4.5 servers will not thrive as a ep5, I think since it's a classic server it's a much better idea to make a 4.5. Currently I'm still improving gameplay to players by doing some minors changes. But still looking for features to enhance even more the gameplay.

Multiclient will be not allowed during Boss Hunting, otherwise it will be allowed in most case. It will be situational, if a guild allows the player to multiclient for drops then it's allowed. If not, then in our contact page there is a category report player.

You will end up hunting for cheaters and listen to players complaining about multiclienting all day long.

Its like the saying "Give them a finger, and they will grab the whole hand".

I'd also add to what Agony suggested, make something unique. The servers I enjoyed the most were the ones that were creative and offered a different kind of gameplay.
Keep it classic, but try to do things a bit different. Maybe new starter areas, change up the end game areas (why do people mostly pvp in Jungle/DD1? Add a few changes and make them PvP in another map, it could be refreshing).

I do not agree with the "no debuff" mentality though. Debuff lapis are part of the game and obtainable by everyone. If debuff lapis are taken out, sonic and flash lapis should be too, my 2 cents.

Also, do not even bother implementing Lv7 Lapis, EP4 is not meant to have those, for a good reason.

If you're interested in custom gear, do not add random stats and damage values. Closely calculate the percentage increase per tier to not end up with imbalance and overpowered gear.
If the difference from 50 gear to 60 gear is, say, 5%, then make the difference from 60 gear to your custom set also be 5% to make it seem more natural without overpowering.

I'm mostly thinking of what exp rates server should be. Since people are maybe getting bored of leveling toons, so looking towards of what people suggest about the exp rates.

Why would u mage another server when there are already simialr server to fulfil ur needs...if u are experienced and u wanna work then become a GM..dont we have enough servers out there ?
