Message on Log in

I did have a quick look around for this but couldnt find any info.
How do i go about changing the Message that appears as you first log in?

Log in message by you mean the pop up saying Enjoy the world of shaiya etc such and such contact game masters at aeriagames.com etc..
its in your client folder named notice.txt change it and for loading screens its tip.txt

Hmm, probably newbie question, but is there a way to pack a modification of that into a patch?

It should work with the same way when you patch the game.exe
Put the notice.txt in the same archive as the patch.
in the patch there need to be:
update.sah
update.saf
notice.txt

pack the notice.txt to a zipfile (it must be a zip! no rar) rename it to ps0001.patch (or your current number) and update your client
