I also have a suspicion of extension because of the fact that most events are held 14 days and not 10. However i dont know if you have other reasons in mind

my personal THEORY, it is that we will have an extension of 4 days to this event and we will shoot with lightbullets on an enlightened version of the same npc's.
Ex: Now we shoot the haunted/ghost versions and after this we shoot the enlightened/normal versions of them.
But remember, this is just an theory.

They've had a freedom event at the same time as another event in the past. Not that I agree about his theory, but your argument is wrong.
