Enchants, Espers, what?

If I keep on using enchants and espers is it possible my weapon can break? also can it stack up on a weapon? I never really upgraded any weapons so I don't understand how it works

none of those will break your weapon, ever

enchants stack, but the more you stack them the more the chance for failure increases
should an enchant fail, you only lose the enchants, nothing else

esper chips do NOT stack. If you install an esper chip on an already chipped item, the old chip gets deleted.

Items never break
if you add an esperchip to an item then the current esperchip will be removed/deleted
if you enchant an item then there is a chance that the enachant fail and all your previous enchants will be removed from the item
