Rappelz Crash Bug

Okay guys, I have been searching for literally YEARS on how to fix this. I'm still getting the crash bug that just crashes you to desktop with no error message except a send error report that's been happening since I started back in Epic 3. I'm currently playing Rappelz US (original Rappelz) Does anyone at all know how I can fix this? I've tested Rappelz on about 11-12 difference PC's and Rappelz will crash on ALL of them. I'm not lazy, I've searched as much as I possibly could for a resolution but could not find one. I found a topic made by someone called "Siris" on the rappelz forum, and he says " Rappelz is leaking memory when it loads new parts of the game, e.g. when you enter new areas or use some form of teleportation.
The second problem is that rappelz is a 32bit application. 32bit programs can only address 4 GB of memory, of which 2GB are normally reserved for the operating system.
Once rappelz reaches 2GB of virtual memory use it can't request any more memory from the operating system and thus crashes."

I've tried his tutorial, on every PC that I've tested Rappelz on but had absolutely no success. I have spoken to numerous people that say they NEVER crash, no matter how many times they teleport. They have all settings maxed out and I still crash when all Rappelz settings are down to half.

Here is my gaming rig:
Windows 8
16GB Ram
4 GB Graphics (Nvidia GT 750m)
1TB HDD
DirectX 11
3.4GHz

People are telling me that they are running Rappelz on their laptops which have specs dating back to 2009 and they're still able to run Rappelz with no issues. Why am I crashing on both PC and laptop? I have tried redownloading the client, I've tried defragging and cleanig the registry, I've tried every tutorial I've ever found online but NOTHING has worked. I'm honestly fed up with this because it has been happening since Epic 3.

If anyone can help me fix this FOR GOOD, I would gladly pay for the help if you accept donations. This is too frustrating to continue playing with any further. Some days I crash every 20 minutes, some I crash every few hours, but either way I still crash. I hope someone here can help me.

Learn how to set up Large Address Aware in the tutorial siris left or remove all but 2 gig of your ram before you play.

1. Try to play around with the Resolution of the game.
2. Sometimes i had to install DX 9 to get Rappelz running properly.

Hi guys thanks for replying =) @thndr, as I've said, I've already tried the tutorial by Siris on about 8 other PC's so I didn't think it would work. I gave it another shot last night after reading your reply and I haven't crashed yet in 14 hours. I didn't get a chance to do much like teleporting around to try get it to crash but I will test it out properly today and let you know how it goes.

@c1ph3r, I've tested Rappelz running every resolution it has, unfortunately this wasn't the issue and continued to crash on everything I tried. As for the DX9 Idea, that's pretty interesting. If I continue to crash I'll try this out and let you know if it works. Just curious, won't installing an older version of DX mess with my current games like BF4/Arma 3 and other games that require top end PC's? The 3.0 shader model in DX11 is really nice.

It still will eventually crash as Siris stated but it should at least crash less often.

I probably should let C1PH3R take this one since it was his suggestion.

I think you can use the Web installer and install any missing components of DX9C that are not installed for DX11 leaving DX11 installed but missing 9C components over installed on the DX11.

Not sure but I have a Windows 7 computer with DX11 and I ran the web installer once after I had gotten the computer and it did install some DX9C components.

C1PH3R may be suggesting to completely remove DX11 though unless it is absolutely needed for some of your newer games.

@thndr & @c1ph3r, after trying large address aware on this PC, I have been running Rappelz for a solid 38 hours. I've been teleporting around everywhere like flea, VI, sanc HM, all other HM dungeons (was trying to make the crash happen in the areas it usually happens in) and I didn't get a single crash!! I'm amazed.. I wonder why it worked on this PC and not on any of the other 8 or so I've tried it on. Well, I really appreciate both of you guys taking the time to help me. I guess I just needed a push in the direction I've once visited :P Thank you thndr and c1ph3r.

Also, @c1ph3r. If it still crashes after a while, I'll try the DX9 advice you gave me to prevent it from ever happening. I'll post back with feedback to tell you guys how the games been running for me.

As I stated in the thread, I would be happy to donate to anyone who helped me out. I'm a man of my word, so if you'd like a donation then let me know =)

Update - It crashed once yesterday at 4:32pm (GMT+10 Australian time). After running it again it hasn't crashed since. It seems the large address aware lets me run rappelz for up to 2-3 days. I'm happy enough with this. It's much better than every 20 minutes lol. Thank you so much for your help guys.

As I said, if you'd like a donation just let me know.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'll be trying the DX9 idea next to see if it's a permanent fix. If not, I'm not fussed as this is good as it is.

Just as a note...

Every time sframe is replaced in a new patch you will need to reapply the LAA fix.

No problem, got it. Thanks mate =)

I've installed DX9, Rappelz hasn't crashed yet but I haven't reached that time frame that I had it running for last time, so I'll post back and let you guys know if it worked as a permanent fix or not.
