Trying to crash server or Hack !!

i thought id share this here, which i think is sad, for someone to try and do, so maybe Epvp can track the ip and also ban here!

useless my server isnt local its paid for , and the ip in launcher is theirs not mine

Regarding these errors, they show up when the server receives invalid packets so there is no reason to worry about that, could be a port scan.

About the 2nd issue with creating accounts, it looks like an issue with your registration process that must be addressed.

and take a closer look they arent all the same names or emails, study perfect =knowledge

I don't know what to say but go ahead and read the auth server source code, it's available to public and check what triggers that "invalid message...." message.

Of course they wouldn't all have the same name, it's most likely a script that generates random data and sends it to your registration handler.

And Guthin? that is used to crash servers , which is aknown issue with many other servers, the point was to overload the server to crash it

Thanks for your input bro, but considering who she used to work for ill take her opinion , and what she has said has been proven true so far... and it crashed 3 times from that, so i went and read about it on my own, that size of packets is just as she said , so we are moving the server to private Thank you very much Toonsx

And since there isnt many to know about this, maybe this can be used to enlighten those of what to look for if it ever happens to them

They're using the official auth server, not Glandu's auth emu.

There are ways you could improve your registration script to not allow spamming of accounts from the same IP.

I believe in a life time of learning, just because you may be an "IT programmer" does not mean you have learned all there is to learn about it, or about life in general.

I am an engineer and I still teach myself new things everyday or learn new things from other people.

Doesn't do yourself or anyone else any good to belittle someone else's knowledge or say no thanks I got this.

That ia true also, but i dont think dude understood what she was saying , everyone needs to learn, me for one, cause this is all new to me, and i was the only one asking for help, not her, she was stating he tried to do the same to their server ,but i think it was donr from a recent post i had posted here, but you live and learn, and my cup is never full !

you are correct , but i never meant any harm, and yes i have took actions , my reply was was meant to say i wasn't asking for help, just helping another with information, on the problem , and letting him know i knew what to or have done on the problem , so if it came as a idgf way, then i apologize .....but in real taking a closer look to things does help , something i learned from you !!

Also take a look at Devmon this is a source finder which finds sources in programs and can be used as a programmatic with Sframe to stop a computer from accessing your ip or game , since others try to change ip's , which is useful when hosting a web site or server for hackers ect...

Windows Firewall is good enough to block an IP address or to take that load off of the machine running Windows Server you can use a hardware firewall.
