Yeah I think that's what ToonSX was talking about with the Devmon trying to detect the actual signature of the program that they were using.

Not specifically a MAC address block or hardware block as we all know mac addresses can be changed and spoofed as well.

Detecting the programs signature would be pretty efficient.

Devmon doesn't really detect the signature of the program used, it simply can't since it has no access to the program that's sending these TCP packets.

Well i found out from reading Xzenji post on what to do, but its just me and the kids playing local now, so no need to go public, besides, i really tink thoe who sit in a chair all day trying to get through other peoples stuff are those who actually need to get a life , but my pockets arent big enough to go through such illness so having the kids in game with me is just good enough, thank ThunderNikk Dark, and Toonsx, you guys rock! am happy to have people to really want to help those who are dum to the fact

That is fine, as well, but maybe this will help you later if you do decide to try your own

1) many use 2nd hand browser's, such as firefox opera ect.. always download using IE or chrome, this will help when down loading things , or also you can use the virus tool you see here when downloading

2): if you have a registering site, never tell anyone what or where it is until you make sure you have it secure the way you want, as for example, after setting up test it your self with scripts and other useful tools, if you know php you can always use or edit to use good stuff to work with your site such as hitman pro, and other things such as making a registration watcher, which lets players register , let them sign in and at the same time not able to join the game, because the site deleted the account seconds after creation, knowing how to edit and what to put in your Htaccess file is the key

3) always have your data bases in a secure host such as mongo or many others that offer free, but pay for the monitoring its cheap and useful, never have site and data bases on the same server!

4) one good way to host the launchers from your pc or a virtual one, this will be very helpful when you see those happen again, also do much reading on PHP and how to restrict access from certain registers, and you may have to spend a few bucks and get the watcher once added to your site it alerts you and also reject as you ask, , at time you may get some that pass through but still the site will block them and if you know how to rewrite a database table that would be helpful also, there will be a few extra things you will need to add to the database and maybe do more config in other parts , in all there is really cheap tools to use if you know where to look or find them, one example is if you own or have a business , many tools offer 50-100% off or 30-60 day free trials , alot of good stuff the public has no idea of unless they do own a business or some type of internet company , hope this helps and give you some insight !

Ps Devmon is a good tool if you know how to use it, think of it kind of like game guard , once you enter the source code from anything you send out it then looks for the LDN , LDN is the code # for every computers mother board, and then lets Devmon know which client a player useing and the type of LDN, its not an information gatherer, it only serch for program codes, microsoft uses somthing of the same to keep up with which computer has a key or not, but if you do use it let your players know what its for and why your using it, its not illegal and perfectly safe to use, no different then the source finders most use here to find source codes, just devmon works with your system and clients your players download....

this way if a player hacks or anything that brakes a rule, you can ban the pc from accessing your game !, all this is done from Devmon admin panel,

As other members mentioned, try to develop an IP black list and block them in Windows Firewall. Once the attacker makes enough IP changes, you'll be able to develop an IP range that the attacker uses (i.e. a specific VPN vendor, or a country or regional IP range).

In addition, you can use soft-based software that has wizard-like configuration for determining when a specific number of requests, or the size of the request is out of the ordinary, and block IPs based on that. (e.g. Anti DDoS Guardian).
